I have had the pleasure of owning some MB Quart home loudspeakers, so I was not surprised by the sound quality of my first two pair of car speakers from them. The German design and manufacturing has always been great for loudspeakers. Please note that my impressions are based on these speakers as available through Amazon at their price points. At MB Quarts regular almost $200.00 pair MSRP, I would not be quite as enthusiastic with my review.

I bought two pair of these speakers to replace my Bose system in the front door panels and rear deck of my 1995 Maxima. I am powering them with a very old (15 years) but just opened David Hafler MS 88 amp(22 watts rms, .05 THD, 15-100khz bandwidth, 90db s/n ratio). My head unit is a Kenwood 302 double DIN receiver.

It took me a while to get the receiver "set" right so the speakers sound good. And they sure do. The bass (no sub being used) is very respectable and they play loud with no distortion. They have titanium dome tweeters so you have to turn the treble down to avoid "cd sizzle". That is about my only complaint. I would not recommend trying to drive them with just the internal amp (16-22 watts) of most car cd receivers if you want loud, clean volume. They are only moderatly efficient. Technically, I am under powering them with my Hafler amp. They are rated to take 50-100 watts. All in all, I was very pleased to get two pair of these deliverd to my house for $136.00.
