When our 2.5 yo became afraid of the dark, a friend recommended this nightlight and it's been great. Right now it sits on a shelf watching over her, but I can see the day when the light will guide her to the potty during the night. Very functional and she's named hers.

When it glows it's not the purply color seen sometimes online but a lit-up neon pink type color; in a dark room it almost glows red. the radiant light isn't very bright but the object itself is dark neon pink. It's fun but not great for sleep -- think Seinfeld's episode where Kramer had the red neon light flashing outside his room and was going crazy! We also have the lavender one -- a much more tranquil, light color when lit, lighter than pictured online. If you want a gentle night-time light for a girl's room, the lavender would be the better choice!

A friend of mine recommended this light to me, her son treasured his, so I added it to my wish list for my daughter. My brother bought it for her for Christmas, and from the second we opened the box she has been smitten with it. She received it when she was 8 months old, and has had it for a month. We cannot do bedtime or travel without it.

The first night, I had it on a shelf that was on the other side of the room from her crib. About an hour after I put her down, I went up to check on her to make sure all is well, I hadn't heard a peep! When I looked in, there she was, standing up, holding onto her crib rail, gazing at her Mobi light! I couldn't believe it. From that night on, she has fallen asleep with it next to her, and if she isn't near it in her crib when she is put down, she makes sure to move it next to her before she drifts off!

I would recommend this to anyone. In fact, I am going to purchase another just in case something happens to the first! It has great battery life, two brightness levels, a quick charge, and a 10 minute "timer" mode. We usually put it on the timer mode for bedtime, and doing so, I have to charge it *maybe* once a week if that.
