That is one fast flash drive!, I mean it, it really transfers everything very fast. with its 8Gb it doesn`t run out of space and the rubber is of good quality so it withstands everything... Very nice purchase, only one complaint, it doesn`t come with the neck string thing, but the one you probably have from your old and damaged flash drive will work just fine :)

I have been using this for over a month, and it seems to have held up a lot better then the ones I have previously used. I had to supply my own little key ring loop to attach it to my main key ring; all it comes with is a small hole at the end to attach to a key ring. The soft cover coating is great. I have yet to try to dunk it is water, and I don't plan to. You really can't beat the price either for 8 GB, and something that will last a while.

I was at my campus bookstore looking for a giant usb flash drive to store my homework assignments, mp3 songs, and picture files. I caught sight of this drive and was quite drawn to its rugged looking rubber. From what the package described it could withstand any of the unforgiving elements. My frame of mind was, if this thing cannot be nuked by water and resists attracting shocks, it should be able to handle a bumpy ride in my roller backpack right? Unfortunately I was very wrong.

I hardly abuse my roller backpack. Sure its wheels have taken on dirt paths or uneven asphalt, but its never been on the receiving end of a bad impact. I slipped the device into the front pocket of my pack where nothing could scratch or harm it and forgot about it for a few days. The following week I popped the drive into my computer and immediately ran into data corruption issues. I also started struggling just to get the drive to write some basic word docs. The reliability of the device quickly became a hit or miss affair.

The last straw occurred when I started to notice that the metal port had begun to bend even though I never placed it in my backpack uncovered, never had any books piled on top of it, and never yanked it out sloppily from my laptop. I carefully tried to reposition the port back into the proper place and secure it. It staid alive after two more uses and then finally the drive completely died. After this disappointing experience, I think I'm going to go back to my humble plastic cased Memorexes. They could take way more punishment than these "durable" Datasport drives.
