Editorial Reviews

Product Description
The Hibernauts are a St. Louis indie-rock quartet whose sound features melodic power pop, and whose dancable music and ambient vocal styles are reminiscent of well-constructed indie-pop and Britpop.

The Hibernauts Periodic Fable named #1 local release of 2007 by STLToday.com, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's official website

The Hibernauts Periodic Fable named top ten local release of 2007 by Riverfront Times, based in St. Louis

The Hibernauts Periodic Fable CD release show named Best Local Concert of the past 12 months by Riverfront Times, based in St. Louis

One of American Indie Podcast's Featured Artists in 2007

'Sleeping in Space' is, hands-down, the catchiest song you've heard all year...'Throwing Rice' is another fast-paced indie dream. Laura Hamlett, Playback STL

...the whole album has a smooth continuity with each tune being a piece of a well-constructed puzzle. Kent Manthie, Amplifier Magazine

...dynamic...inventive...insidiously catchy...crisp...exuberant...The Hibernauts [are] making some of the most exciting, challenging music around. Annie Zaleski, Riverfront Times

The Hibernauts play a strong, stripped-down style of indie rock that comes forth into pop glory...on Periodic Fable...their superior musicianship and arrangement skills here are why the band ultimately succeeds on Periodic Fable. Each of the tracks here could conceivably be a single. Neufutur Magazine

Periodic Fable[is] fast synth-pop riddled with post-punk, pop-rock, and grand choruses. [The Hibernauts] plunges deep into dance-punk rhythms and use guitars and synthesizers to create a hazy post-Interpol sort of sound...but few do it this well.
J-Sin, Smother Magazine

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Sophmore Effort, December 29, 2007
By Mark Boatman (Glendale, Missouri United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have the Hibernauts' first CD, and it sounds like, well, a first CD--loads of creative promise, but not quite yet there. CD number two, Periodic Fable, delivers in spades. It is well crafted both sonically and in terms of the songs, arrangements and performances. Yet it still has the freshness of their freshman effort. On the first listen through every song on Periodic Fable was inviting and demanded to be played again, yet no song sounded "too familiar." When is the last time you listened to a CD and that happened? This disc should be on you iPod.

5.0 out of 5 stars Periodic Fable, August 23, 2007
By Janice McArthur (St. Charles,, Mo. USA) - See all my reviews

Exciting up and coming band who writes their own songs. They have been featured in St. Louis magazine's "Cool Issue," and the River Front Times newspaper. Unique style and great songs.
