Exorbitant price, but well worth it.

Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase

I'd wanted this book for a while but couldn't justify the expense. Then I had a research paper to do that fit the subject, and that was all the excuse I needed. Saul obviously loves his subject, and his passion and enthusiasm are obvious. The research is thorough and not limited to a handful of overused sources. If funerary practices, memorial sculpture and the medieval period are your areas of interest, you won't be disappointed. (But you might be overwhelmed!)
