My family LOVES this movie! It's the first one we choose at the start of the Christmas season. I really don't understand the negative reviews. It's clean, funny, and in a beautiful setting. It's made for TV (abc family), which we like because there is more of a chance we can all watch together (parents in 40's, 10-yr-old son, and grandmother). I will admit, the DVD version is slightly different from the TV version (we liked the TV one better), but it didn't stop us from buying a copy. Give it a chance!

I am probably the only one who will give a positive review, but I thouroughly enjoyed this film. A Jay Mohr fan, I enjoyed his portrayal of a self-centered man who needs to realize what's important around the holidays. Do I think it's a rip-off of Groundhog Day? Yes. Do I like Groundhoug Day better? Yes. BUT this is very good for what it is.

A fun movie...great for all. Similar to Groundhog day, you watch the main character "grow up" living Christmas Eve over and over again. a light fun movie for the Christmas holiday's!! Characters are enjoyable and real and the acting is good.

While I usually have fairly discerning taste in movies and television I am, for whatever reason, a Christmas movie junkie. Once a year, I throw good taste aside and eagerly await the holiday TV movie season. I tune in for (almost) every mindless, formulaic Hallmark, Lifetime and ION made-for-TV movie released. (No small feat, as it seems like there is about 40 of them a year.) They are undeniably cheesy, laughably acted (always starring whatever third-billed former sitcom star is currently most in need of a paycheck), ridiculously formulaic and always cheaply produced ... And I love them. Yes, some are nearly unwatchable dreck, but some are terrible in a much better, much sweeter, far more festive way.

In this oh-so-specific genre, CHRISTMAS DO-OVER is one of my all time favorites. Yes, it's rip-off of the undeniably superior in every single way Groundhog Day [Blu-ray]. But, I mean, c'mon, it's a made for TV Christmas film--there are only about four plots for all these movies and they make 20-30 a year. (We play a game where you say the title of a new made-for-TV Christmas movie and guess the plot based solely on the title; you'd be amazed how accurate you can get after seeing only a handful of examples.)

So, yes, this is even far from the only do-the-day-over Xmas rip off either, but it is the best one, in my opinion. But, for all it's cheesy Christmas goodness, it's also funny, sweet and will put you squarely in the holiday spirit ... Which is kind of the point.

No real need to buy the DVD, though it's far from a big expense, as they show this, and every other Christmas film, annually. But if you're looking to find one of the better examples from this much-maligned, and yet also beloved, genre, CHRISTMAS DO-OVER is one of the best.

This movie is definitely one that is worth watching! Yes, it is like Groundhog's Day and Christmas Everyday, that is what makes it so great! I personally think the comedy is even better in this one.

Kevin is definitely a bit on the self-centered side. He is invited to his in-laws' home for a Christmas celebration and drags his feet the whole way. He, of course, wants to see his son, but he is not really thrilled about family time with the ex, her family and her new boyfriend. Of course Kevin's son is thrilled to have the family together and doesn't care about anything other than that and wishes that it was Christmas every day.

In the fame of "Groundhog Day," Christmas repeats itself again and again with only Kevin realizing what is going on. Kevin is not remotely delighted to spend the same day again and again with his ex and her family and acts out like the selfish man he is. But a change may come if he is willing to open his heart and his eyes.

"Christmas Do-Over" is a sweet Christmas film. There is a lesson to be learned which makes it nice for the family. Don't dig too deep though because there are a lot of things that would make you dismiss the magic of the sweet spot of this story. Well, once Kevin stops being a creep. :)

I would give this one 3 Stars. I liked it. I would possibly watch it again, but it would not be a yearly thing.

Who doesn't want to live Christmas Every day? Well, if you were Ebeneezer Scrooge, or someone just like him, you sure wouldn't. But, if you had to do it over and over again, eventually you would learn, no matter how long it took! When a big boulder blocks Jay Mohr's way out of town, you just know that the fun is about to begin. His speech at the dinner table and attempts at singing Christmas carols are killer, and the image of that boulder looking pretty much like a giant baked potato make this a classic!

I'm sure that you will hear people complain that Christmas Do-Over borrows much from other films, but who cares? This is one of the funniest, most adorable and family-friendly Christmas movies ever! The laughs are just great for people of every age, especially if you think you would enjoy a good slug-out-with Santa, "Jesus," and some giant green "Peas on Earth!"
