I am a high school student and I have a 15 inch notebook PC that I did most if not all of my typing on. I wrote all of my projects and essays while seated on my bed with my computer on my lap. This worked well for about ten minutes before the computer became hot as a firecracker! I knew there had to be some sort of product out there that could help me with this but all I found were laptop stands with built in fans that were made out of metal or wood. Then I came across the lap mat. This is one of those "why didn't I think of that products." It has a leather like top that holds the lap top very well, and the best part is the soft padding that rests on your legs. No more dead leg. I love this product! There is even a little room for a mouse. Not much but you can make use of it! Overall this is a sweet product and is well worth the price.

I use this product just about every day. I have a 17" notebook, and it gets pretty hot after a short time in use. The Lap Mat keeps the heat away when I'm using the laptop on my lap. I can sit on the couch and type away. The 17" laptop fits perfectly with room to spare. There's even room left over(a little bit of room) for me to use my wireless mouse.

The product has a bag of beads or beans that offers cushion and support. The top of the lap mat is firm and also grips somewhat to the bottom of the laptop so it doesn't slide off easily.

I use this product in conjunction with the COOL LIFT Laptop Stand which helps to elevate the laptop and keep it even cooler. The Cool Lift helps to lift up the laptop so it's closer to eye level (not at eye level, but closer to it).

The "top" is so flimsy it just warped under the weight of my laptop, preventing airflow to my air intakes. I would not recommend this item.
