Simple to install, simple to use - NO CD!!! It's an MP3 player for your car., January 12, 2009
I just finished installing the PL90MU in my 2000 Galant. First thing first, I bought a Mitsubishi wiring harness and I soldered the corresponding colored wires from the harness to the colored wires from the PL90MU. Once I removed the stock radio from my car, the PL90MU was simple plug and play with the wiring harness and radio antenna. I also grounded the black wire - however, I initially forgotten to do this step - and it still powered on and played.
I plugged in a 1GB thumb drive that I had a bunch of MP3's on and the PL90MU recognized the USB and took about 3 seconds to read initialize and launch the first song.
I haven't tried the SD card slot yet, but as long as the USB is working good, I'm not going to trip; I imagine the SD will work as good as the USB slot. I next programmed the radio. The PL90MU has 18 preset FM stations and 12 preset AM station. Much more than my old stock radio. The bass and treble control weren't all that great, but overall, the sound is very clean and clear. The PL90MU has one output for an amp (red and white RCA plugs) and I feel that this unit could use an amp if you want a LOUD system. As is, it's pretty decent.
There is an included remote control for the PL90MU, but I won't be using it. As a matter of fact, I just put it back in the box. Here in California, I can imagine that I'll be stopped by a cop for "text messaging" - the remove is small like a cell phone. I can't imagine why I would need to use a remote when the radio controls are in arms reach.
Pros: Easy to install. I didn't even use the brackets that came with the PL90MU. I used the brackets from my stock radio. Easy to use controls. 18 preset FM stations - 12 AM stations. USB, SD card and Aux inputs. No CD!
Cons: When first installed, the clock is flashing, however, there is no instructions on how to set the clock. I will have to go back and tinker with this later. I like having a clock and in my car, the only clock is on the radio. Not a whole lot of power. Advertised as 320 watts of power, but I imagine it's only cranking out 20 watts. Not extremely loud, but loud enough for my needs.

Pyle PL90MU - cheap, cool and working well, November 24, 2008
In use for a couple months now, ordered not for myself (yet) but for my 16yr old son. Knowing how my kids treat cd's and dvd's this cd-less audio system seemed perfect.
Purchased from ANTonline, when we recieved it the volume knob was broken. Since it was just the plastic inner portion of the knob that keeps it locked to the rotary switch we just super glued it in lieu of the RMA return process to get another unit that may not be any better.
Overall happy w/ the product performance.

works fine but would be nicer with a menu system, May 9, 2009
This unit is ok for the price. on the plus side it reads usb, sd cards and aux input via headphone jack plug. the usb does not work for me so well cause it sticks out and i tend to hit my ciggatette on it when goin for the ashtray. but i really like the sd card slot, have a 2 gig in it and its nice. The sd card fits flush in the unit, so if u use a black one its less visible.
on the minus side, its not very powerful, the output to the speakers does not really have any ballz, but so well for the price. it only has one set of pre amp outputs, so it can feed 1 2 channel amp, or a 4 channel if you yoke the 2 into a pair of y cables and make it 4 outputs. i have a 4 channel amp im gonna hook it up as such, and i suspect that will give it the power it needs to sound sweeter. the other minus is no menu system to speak of, just track number, not even title and artist. to change songs u push up track, or down track. or u can use the number preset buttons to punch in a number, but unless u know the number good luck, no menu with names or folders.
still, u get what you pay for, and i think i got my moneys worth.
weeeeee
no more cds
Wired one
