Amazon.com Product Description

With its easy-to-use features, the Nokia 2610 simplifies your life and keeps you connected when you're away from home. Offering advanced media and calling features without breaking the bank, the 2610 is an easy-to-use device that combines multiple messaging options including e-mail, instant messaging, and more. You can even download MP3 ringtones, graphics, and games straight to the phone, or surf the Web with your network's Internet service.

Nicely affordable, the easy-to-use Nokia 2610 is packed full of powerful communication tools.
T-Mobile Service
The 2610 operates on GSM 850/1900 networks and is compatible with T-Mobile's myFaves service, which allows you to call up to five of your most common contacts--on any network, even landlines--without using any of your minutes. Learn more about myFaves from T-Mobile.

Phone Features
Compact and stylish, the 2610 features a candybar design sporting a bright 128 x 128 pixel display capable of displaying over 65,000 colors. Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a center toggle on the control pad. A standard hands-free headphone jack is provided, as are volume control keys, and there's even a "Go-To" button that can be assigned for quick access to favorite applications. Lastly, the included speakerphone allows you to talk hands-free, and because the phone sports an internal antenna, there's nothing to snag or break off.

The 2610's built-in address book can store up to 300 contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers. Choose from up to 34 built-in ringers, plus downloadable ringtones from T-Mobile (additional fees applicable). This phone supports 24-chord polyphonic ringtones as well as real-music MP3 ringtones. There's also a vibrating alert for when you want to be discreet.

If you need text messaging capabilities, the 2610 has you covered as support is built-in for sending and receiving SMS and MMS messages. Instant messaging is also supported too, and comes preloaded with AOL, Yahoo!, MSN and ICQ IM clients (additional fees may apply). When it's time to connect to the Web, you can do so quickly over the supported GPRS data protocol. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built-into the unit--a plus for text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 2610 including a calendar, a calculator, and an alarm clock. The 2610 lets you carry these tools wherever you go so you can create appointments and view your schedule at a moment's notice. The 2610 also allows you to dress up the phone with different custom graphics and wallpapers--a great way to add subtle flavor to an otherwise boring day.

Vital Statistics
The Nokia 2610 weighs 3.21 ounces and measures 4.09 x 1.69 x 0.71 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 3.0 hours of digital talk time, and up to 12 days of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS 850/1900 frequency.

1.0 out of 5 stars Barely functional, February 2, 2009
This review is from: Nokia 2610 Phone (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
I got this phone for use with my T-Mobile pre-paid plan. It is so hard to hear that you have to have the thing burrowed practically halfway into your ear in order to hear what is being said; if there is any ambient noise at all you pretty much have to put the thing on speakerphone.

The buttons are iffy too, they do not always "take" when you press them. When I answer a call, it's like rolling a dice: sometimes it goes to the "call in progress" screen, sometimes to my contact list, sometimes to the "save new contact" screen etc etc. If you are calling anything that requires touchpad input (phone menus and so forth), whatever numbers you push remain on the screen after the call is over, you have to push the hang up button a second time to clear them out.

The one good thing about this phone (which cost me $30 without a contract, btw -- not sure where amazon got the $199 figure it's currently showing, there's no way this thing would ever cost that much) is that it can go for almost a week on a single charge.

This phone works for me (barely) because I just don't rely heavily on cell phones in general, even for work. If I did I would throw this thing away in a skinny minute.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nokia 2610 NO GOOD!, October 1, 2008
This review is from: Nokia 2610 Phone (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
I have this phone currently and I am in process of getting another kind because I cannot see thru the dark cover on the face hardly at all. Also I have it turned up as loud as it goes and I can barely hear it. I do appreciate the speaker phone as that is what I put it on, and still hold it to my ear to hear!!! Do not purchase this phone! I was given mine free and now I know why.

1.0 out of 5 stars This phone is junk, March 4, 2010
By Hafhead (Seattle) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nokia 2610 Phone (T-Mobile) (Wireless Phone)
Volume: The phone is very difficult to hear under the best of circumstances.

Display: It is very hard to see the battery and signal meters, as they are very narrow and right up along the sides of the screen. If there is any glare, or if it is the slightest bit dark, you can't see them at all.

Keypad: There is a half-second delay every time you press a key before you can see the result of it. You can't arrow through a menu without pausing to let the phone catch up to where you want to be.

Size: It is reasonably small, but just a little thicker than what comfortably fits in a pocket.

The only reason I bought this phone is that T-Mobile's prepaid plan is by far the cheapest plan available anywhere, and their phone selection is limited.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice phone, Easy to use
I actually like this phone. While it is true that the volume adjustment does need to be turned up all the way, I've never had a problem with hearing. Read more
