Designed for quickly cooling any room in the house, this thoughtfully designed portable air conditioner uses environmentally-friendly R410a refrigerant gas to help protect the environment and the ozone layer. Its refrigerant also provides energy-efficient operation, using less energy to deliver the same amount of cooling as other refrigerant types. The air conditioner produces 12,000 BTUs of cooling power and offers four different fan speeds depending upon the level of cooling desired. It also supplies an electronic control panel with an easy-to-read LCD display, a fully featured remote control, and a 24-hour programmable timer that turns the unit on at a specific time--great for coming home to a cool room at the end of the day.

In addition to cooling the air, the unit also functions as a dehumidifier with a "dripless" system, which means no annoying bucket to empty. Other highlights include Sleep and Smart modes, built-in air filtration, an energy-efficient adjustable thermostat, and quiet performance thanks to the high-efficiency compressor and components, as well as durable caster wheels and side handles for portability. Accessories include a window bracket and an exhaust hose for easy installation. The unit effectively combines an air cooler, a dehumidifier, and an air cleaner all in one stylish design that will nicely complement any decor. Designed and engineered in Italy, the eco-friendly air conditioner measures approximately 15 by 18-1/4 by 30-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

This De'Longhi Pinguino Portable Air Conditioner has 12,000 BTU's for powerful performance. It incorporates an eco-friendly refrigerant gas, R410A, which contains zero ODP (ozone depletion potential) and is also denser, allowing for more compact components and units. R410A is a more-efficient refrigerant that allows for better energy-saving technology. And because it's portable, you can spot cool room as needed, which is more energy-efficient than your central system.

The air conditioner includes an easy-to-use digital display with a fully featured remote control that allows easy and immediate control of functions and room temperature, a 24-hour programmable timer, an energy-efficient adjustable thermostat to keep power-usage at a minimum, 3 fan speeds, and auto fan function. In addition, it has a very quiet operation due to its high efficiency compressor and components and unique no drip technology. With this exclusive process, Pinguino uses condensation and collected moisture to help cool the air. Excess vapor is then discharged through the exhaust hose. This product is easily portable thanks to its durable indoor and outdoor castor wheels and side-carry handles. The unit includes the following accessories: an extra-large professional caster kit and a window bracket and an exhaust hose.

Save Energy While Cooling Down
R410a eco-friendly refrigerant gas saves money by operating more efficiently and does not harm the environment. Because R410a is a denser and more efficient gas, it is possible to reduce the size of system components such as condensers, compressors, evaporators, piping, and more. R410a operates at higher pressures compared to R22, so the whole system must be designed for sustainability with R410a. Because of this, R410a is a more energy saving technology.

We are on our second Pinguino after our first machine leaked on our carpet. We returned the unit now the second machine leaks aproximately 4 pints of water a day. Delonghi know they are selling a defective product. When you call customer service there is a promt for Penguinuo air conditioners!
They refuse to do anything about replacing this unit at no cost to me.

After 3 months this unit leaked very bad. I sent it in for service only to be told it was dirty and needed cleaning at a cost of $100! All though it is a nice working unit there is an obvious defect in this unit and it should be corrected before this unit is continued to be sold. Not recommended at all.

DeLonghi PAC A120E was easy to set-up, because it included EVERYTHING!
I am just loving it. Comming home from work to a nice COOL place. Who could ask for anything more. I have not seen my Electric Bill yet, so I will only give it four stars.

*****update - I just got my Con Edison bill in the amount of $299.89! I was in a little bit of a shock (my normal bill is $115ish). I guess i will have to cut down on usage. I have all the lastest energy saving devises(cfl light blubs) etc., and I have to find more ways to save on my Con Ed bill. Keeping cool this summer for me is a must!

Note: Con Edison did get a rate increase recently, so some of the cost is because of that.
