Costs only a fraction of the original adapter from Lenovo and works fine. However it doesn't appear to be shielded properly: I get interference patterns on my external LCD monitor when using this adapter...

I bought this unit as a replacement after I misplaced the original. It works fine. That's good. However, the strain relief on the cord from the wall socket to the transformer is inadequate on both ends. After a week or two of moderate use, the cord began to separate on both ends and I had to reinforce the strain reliefs with electrical tape. While I was taping it up, I noticed that there was no UL seal on the unit, which was not surprising given the flimsy construction of the cord. I am not worried myself because I am used to jury-rigged equipment that has to be inspected and repaired regularly to keep it safe, but I would worry if someone who expects things to be safe were to get this adapter.

My 6 month puppy chewed up the power cord to our vintage laptop computer. Since we had a lot of documents stored on it that hadn't been backed up, I was panicking. Fortunately, I was able to locate a seller of a replacement at a reasonable price ($10)after having no success looking at the official IBM web site. The cord arrived within a week, and the old computer is working fine.
