Scott and Jackson are saying so much in this cd that it will take a few listens to really begin to feel the hopefulness that lies just below the immensely dark surface of the space we humans inhabit. Moreover, it is a reflection into the heart of darkness, and the grip of dare we say it, SATAN, that
is covered so wonderfully here.
Listen and also follow the words so helpful on the CD liner. I get chills each time I listen to Slip inside this Gateway. All of these songs are masterful,in lyric and melody and have a double meaning of some sort. Don't dismiss this one. Five stars

This album is pretty much a follow up to the last album. However this time around it features more low-key lullabyes and echoey vocals and (even) less hooks.

The only song here that is a sure-fire keeper is "Satanic Blood".

Which leads me to mention that this is NOT a Death Metal album nor is it heavy metal. Far from it. The titles can be misleading.

The bottomline is that if you want to delve into the Doleful Lions, I'd recommend their first 2 albums.
