Very pleased with these accessories, November 2, 2007
The items in this set were a perfect addition to my son's (aged 10) Jack Sparrow costume. The rings and glove fit his hand well (he wore the rings on his index finger and his thumb). The glove would not have fit a hand that was much bigger than his. The rings are a sturdy plastic and seem to fit many sizes of fingers as they fit him nicely but will also go on all of my fingers as well. So many things are cheaply made, but these items seemed to be good, quality items. He really enjoys playing with the compass frequently; initially, I was worried when he wanted to play with it so much and was afraid that it would break before Halloween, but it stood the test of time and is still intact. Admitedly, he hasn't played roughly with it, but so many things are flimsy and break quickly, and this hasn't. (It's not a working compass, but the arrow does turn and he pretends to take bearings.) He looks very cool when wearing all of the pieces - they really did round out his costume nicely. I was definitely glad I'd gotten it.

If you were ordering this as a gag, or a child's toy, then this would be okay for you. But it's hard to give accurate stars for this one.
However, if you were going for functionality or looks, I probably wouldn't recommend this product. Even though it says adult, its still only intended for children, therefore; the glove is too small for a large hand, the Rings are adjustable plastic (best pieces in this kit), tattoo is fine, and the Compass looks alright at first glance: The Compass doesn't really work, when I say it doesn't work I'm not quoting the movie, I am serious. The Dial in the center moves, but the compass ring itself does not. It doesn't even look as good as it does in the picture.
Not what I Expected, but it will do.
It is a nice Childs Accessory, but not for adults, not at all.

Jack Sparrow Compass Kit, September 1, 2009

Order received quickly. I thought it should have cost a little less, but the compass was larger and looked closer to Jack's than any others I've seen in a reasonable price range. So loved the compass; loved the rings. 5 yr old was a little disappointed because the compass dial didn't move direction like a real compass(dial does turn manually); but I knew that before I ordered it. The compass itself is a heavier plastic and looks really good. The fingerless glove was too tight for the 5 yr old. Nice pirate accessories.
