Quality, performance, and plenty of fun. Speakal's iPig is an iPod docking station that boasts five speakers with 23-plus Watts of output. This little piggy comes loaded with a 4-inch sub, bass reflex system, two tweeters, two 1.5-inch mid-range drivers, a sound stabilization system, and plenty more. The Touch Control feature allows you to control the volume with a gentle tap of the pig's "ears." Add a full-featured remote control and an auxiliary input, and this little piggy's ready for action. Highly Compatible
The iPig is compatible with most Apple iPods. Plus, thanks to the auxiliary input, it also works with MP3 and MP4 players, portable game consoles (PSP, Nintendo DS), gaming consoles (PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox, Xbox360), portable and non portable CD and DVD players, televisions, personal computers (desktop and laptops), and mobile phones with audio-playing capabilities.

Humanized Touch Volume Control
Gently touch the right ear of the iPig to raise the volume, and touch the Left one to lower the volume. This technology will react only to the human touch.

High-Quality Sound
The iPig boasts a high-fidelity amplifier, an interior dynamic airflow optimizer, and an interior dynamic cooling exchange system with high sound stabilization to consistently deliver a clear and powerful sound.

iPod Docking Station
Dock your compatible iPod, charge it, and listen to your music without interruption. Plus, you still can enjoy music from other devices, like the iPod shuffle, via the 3.5-mm input connector.

Infra-Red Remote Control
Remote control included to browse through the different iPod features and to control the speakers' volume, treble, and bass.

Smiley Lit Mouth
Each time a command is sent through the remote or when touching the ears, the light will blink as a confirmation of the command received. It also indicates whether the speaker system is on or off.

Bring on the Bass
Control the level of Bass output from the knob control in the back of the iPig. Enjoy deep bass in a small package. Crank up the volume, and then place your hand in front of the mouth--you'll feel it.

The only drawback is the cutesy appearance which makes this unit look more like a toy than a serious compact sized all in one IPOD dock.

Having had 4 Harmon Kardon Go+Play and being very familier with the HK sound, I consider this a baby Harmon Kardon Go+Play. It doesn't have the same maximum volume but it does get respectably loud with true 24 watts and audio extension down to 60 hz. VERY clear, present and strong. A super unit that's only about 6.3 inches in diameter, making for the best sounding small all in one unit I have ever heard.

Incidentally, I travel with the highly regarded larger Boomtube unit reviewed on Amazon here:

The IPIG walls ALL OVER the Boomtube. No comparison- much better frequency response, more presence, clarity, deeper bass, and louder. The only drawback is that this is too small to give stereo separation. This is going to be my new travel music unit. I tested it with wireless microphone and it works great also as an amplification system good enough for speaking to 100 people.

the pig states that it is compatable with the nano 4g but it seems to work with one of the 2 i have and the control will not change tracks on the one that works in it. The other one works fine in the car ipod player so its not the ipod:(. I have tried to contact speakal about it but they still havent got a reply back

I got it for my babys room (fancy), and I was so impress with que quality of the sound.I was not expecting such and amazing sound quality.
This pig is the coolest and louder system ever. The pig its cute and the volume system , love it.
I am replacing all my ipod docks with these cute animals, I already have the panda for my bedroom, now I want the black pig for my kitchen.
Awesome sound system that looks so cute.
