The EY4542LN2M features a multi-purpose metal cutter that rotates at a speed of 3,600 RPM and uses a 5-3/8 C-6 tungsten steel carbide-tipped blade with 30 teeth. For a much quicker cut, the blade uses a chipping action rather than an abrasive action, and the ultra-thin 1/16-inch blade kerf cuts clean with no need for de-burring after cutting.

Built for long life, the EY4542LN2M features an adjustable base plate that delivers a cutting depth from 1/8 inch to 1-3/16 inches--this minimizes blade wear and maximizes cutting efficiency. And for safety and accuracy, the cutting edge is easily visible through the clear window on the blade guard. What's more, the three-way dust control system and fully enclosed blade helps to reduce metal chip splash and sawdust while you work.
Additionally, the EY4542LN2M offers a built-in LED work light that illuminates your work area and an electric brake to stop blade rotation once the trigger is released.

Li-Ion Battery Pack for Long-Lasting Power
The EY4542LN2M is powered by a 3.0-Ah cobalt lithium-ion battery pack that delivers high output with low heat generation for twice the lifetime of Ni-Cd battery packs. In addition, the EY4542LN2M utilizes Panasonic's unique GuardION system, which monitors each battery cell during charging and tool use to prevent over discharging and overheating of the battery pack. And to make things even easier, the battery fully charges in just 50 minutes. The charger is compatible with all Panasonic battery chemistries--Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-ion--as well as all voltages from 7.2 - 28.8.
