I spent ages reading reviews to find something as simple as Microsoft Movie Maker for .mov files which my HD camera produces. I bought this piece of garbage and I now wish I hadn't.

Firstly the install went fine so I had high hopes. I started power director and it wouldn't load a.mov file. I checked their web site and every single version I can see says .mov support.

But guess what the version of power director with this suite is such a lame piece of cut down software it needs to be upgraded for another $54. This makes me so angry.

Also I have just finished importing an HD .mov file and output is garbage. It doesn't output HD it outputs it in a much inferior quality so this software is a total waste of money. I will be sending it back to Amazon.

I found the video editing software confusing to use. The way they implement video-enhancing effects, in particular, is awkward. They want you to buy all kinds of add-ons to do what their ads claim it can do out of the box. Also, the version of Power Director 7 that comes in the suite is a cut-down version, not the complete stand-alone version. I have since switched to Adobe Premiere Elements 7, which I find much easier to use.

We just installed our Cyberlink DVD Ultra software and found it does everything we ever wanted and more! We un-installed other multi-media software and now just use Cyberlink to:

*Watch high-definition Blu-ray Disc movies in 5.1-channel audio (sounds great in our theatre!)
*Create and Share high-definition videos and slideshows. Just simply drop HD TV shows i've recorded off air into my computer and edit away.
*Produce videos and photos to Blu-ray Discs with HD menus
*Backup and Burn data securely to DVDs and Blu-ray Discs
*Manage photos and video files with ease (great for all the pics of the kids we have...and then produce slide shows to send to grandparents.)
