The e-pad laptop desk is comfortable on my lap, especially on my knees. My daughter has a hard laptop pad which holds the laptop nicely, but is hard against my knees. I looked for one with softer underside and found this one. It is not too heavy, molds to fit my lap and knees but after awhile is almost too warm. Will feel good in the winter though. The top has a slightly rough surface so a laptop will not slide and has a raised edge on the front edge to keep the laptop from sliding forward. My laptop has rubber legs so it grips the top of the pad nicely.
Quality product, my 16.9 inch diagonal laptop fits with room to spare. My daughter prefers it to hers.
