1.0 out of 5 stars waste of time and money, March 31, 2009
This product never worked from the second we got it home and plugged in. The camera won't stay on more than 10 seconds and it won't turn on when you try to run it on batteries. Tech support was no help at all. They said there was nothing they could do and that they were low on parts so returning it to them for a new one would take a long time. They suggested trying to return it to the store we got it from and buying a new. It was a waste of money and time. We didn't even get to the skype part so you could watch using live streaming video but I hear people have a lot of complications with that as well. Wish I researched this product more before purchasing it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Home PC that's always on required!, January 2, 2010
By Dr. Mom (Princeton, NJ) - See all my reviews
Although it's not mentioned in the specs, you must have a home PC that is always running Skype to permit remote viewing access. I'm still looking around, but I think this is true of all intenet video monitors I've seen so far--they don't have a server capacity built in (so this is not saying anything bad about this particular monitor compared to others). If you have a home desktop this is no big deal, but since we're a two-laptop family and use them both heavily for work outside the home, we would have to invest another ~$300+ in a cheap desktop and always leave it running, connected to the USB receiver, and logged in to Skype to make this a viable option for checking on our baby when we're away. This seems like an important requirement that should be mentioned in the description.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's better than most, April 15, 2009
This product has great range and is much better than the 3 other brands I tried first. The camera has a wide angle and the color is great. Comtecting to the computer was easy. The only draw backs are the Skype web viewer is hard to figure out and the batteries don't last long in the monitor but I just pluged it in. I had it up and running in 30 minutes
