I've been trying to bring my lifestyle into a more sustainable level and after realizing that showers are one of the most water consuming features in a house that can also be easily and cheaply fixed, I looked for the lowest flow showerheads on the market. This showerhead was said to have a comfortable feeling spray while saving nearly one gallon per minute of water below the standard 2.5 gpm.

Well, I've used it for at least a month, and have been very pleased with the results. I did have to turn up the temperature on my water heater in order to make it comfortable, but it was a very small tweak, and that may also be because the weather has cooled.

Also, there is a knob on the showerhead that slows the flow of water to a trickle when the water gets hot and must be rotated to resume the flow of water. I don't really use this feature. Instead, I let the water run into a bucket until it gets hot, and use that bucket of water to flush the toilet. You could also use it for gardening, etc. Then when I get in the shower, I just turn on the shower and flip the knob. The knob can be turned on even if the water is not completely hot.

Overall, it's a great product, especially if you are concerned about water usage.

I purchased this because my water pressure is so wonderful that I run out of hot water in my current shower after fewer than 4 minutes, with the water heater temp at its highest setting, hoping that it would help extend my shower time to a reasonable period for washing hair, face AND body (I am so picky). Anyway, the one shower I took using it was the absolute worst shower of my entire life, and that includes campground showers and throwing the hose over a tree limb in my bathing suit as a child. It decreased the water pressure soooo much that I was unable to rinse the soap off of my face let alone trying to get conditioner out of my hair. It is going back IMMEDIATELY if not sooner!

If you want a shower head that saves water this is the one. Going from a "Rain" shower head to this one was a little difficult but the water savings is well worth it. It is very cool that it shuts off when the water has reached it's temperature.
