This seems like a great idea for trail running, as it should make rocks and roots stand out better than when just using a headlamp. But, the LED itself is pretty poor. I'm comparing it to my 3 year old Petzl Myo XP - also a 3 watt light, and when you compare the two lights, it's not even close.

Other than the lack of brightness, the rest of the engineering and build-quality is pretty good. Mounting it to a hydration belt seems a bit complicated at first glance, but it's actually not bad. It is secure, and the design allows you to take the belt off without removing the light. Other things like the buttons, the rear-facing red-lights, and the fantastic focusing dial are all really well done.

Ultimately, the lack of brightness is a major issue for this light because a belt-mounted light needs to be in wide-beam mode to be useful. It's really a shame GoMotion didn't put a better LED in this light, as it could be very good.

--Update:
Some of the nice design details that I didn't notice at first include sealed screw-holes for extra water resistance (my Myo XP goes the other route and adds open drain holes.) Also, the entire rear housing of the light functions as a heat-sink (including ventilated fins) for better heat dispersion.

This light uses the old Luxeon III LED. These have been discontinued and are truly inferior to the newer LEDs available. It's really surprising for a product that was released less than 6 months ago to have its core component be obsolete, especially considering that the rest of the build-quality/engineering seems to be quite good.
