I'm just so glad that The Office has gone back to what makes it so great. Instead of soap opera drama, we're treated to another healthy dose of Michael's office antics and Jim and Pam's pranks on Dwight in "New Boss." It seems like this show is just on a role now. "New Boss" isn't quite as funny as "Golden Ticket," but its still a great addition to The Office universe.

In "New Boss," Michael puts together big plans to celebrate his 15th anniversary with Dunder Mifflin. However, his plans are quickly put on the rocks when a new corporate Vice President stops by the Scranton branch and puts a wrench into his plans. Apparently Mr. VP (played by guest star Idris Elba) doesn't tolerate any nonsense and sees Michael's party plans (as well as other office antics) as a complete waste of company time and money. Michael, crushed, drives to corporate to talk with CFO David Wallace about the new VP. However, when talking with David Michael realizes that hi\e hasn't done many fulfilling things with his life and suddenly, in order to try and find happiness, quits.

Jim and Pam do play a prank on Dwight at the beginning of the episode as well, however, this is quickly forgotten as the plot moves forward. It's also pretty downplayed because the story is more focused on Michael's obvious tension with the new VP. I kind of wished that we saw a little more of the prank throughout the episode as well as more Dwight. However, fans of the thicker, more plot driven (than comedy driven) Office episodes will definitely be all over this one.

Funny, entertaining and just interesting enough to keep viewers watching. "New Boss" is able to balance humor with plot well and help the season move toward a climax.
