Good and Fun, but cheap is done., September 23, 2009
This review is from: ThinkGeek Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt (Apparel)
This shirt is a very fun thing to have around fo those "oh so random" moments, but it is mostly just a toy.
The shirt is made of what feels to be cheap material and the fabric isn't strong at all.
The speaker is made of plastic, so don't be fooled, it is also in 2 pieces which are held together by a very cheap glue.
I bought this shirt and by the price thought is would be a very good quality.
Turns out it came in the mail already falling apart! The speakers glue was peeling off!
The cord (which attaches the speaker to the box) is quite short and doesn't have any extra room to go any farther than "just far enough". In other words, the cord needs to be longer than it is for optimal use.
As i said before, this shirt is mostly just a toy for those that have money to burn. (in my opinion)
Overall, i think this product is mostly a "if you have the time and the money, why not" kind of thing.
But seriously, if you buy this while having great expectations, prepare to be disappointed. (like i was)

sounds good..., August 21, 2009
This is definitely one of the greatest useless things ever created on Earth and I love it.
One of the ideas I have had for a long long time was to be able to have background (and not so background) music played on the street, like in the movies...
I salute ThinkGeek as they had the cojones to go ahead and create a tool for this - the Personal Soundtrack Shirt.
The moment I came across it on their website, I knew I have to have this. The kids are going to eat less, but hey, to the sound of music, right?
Anyway, this thing is not perfect - the mp3 player and the controller could be made much smaller, even wireless, after all it's 2009 already. But it's the only, therefore the best loudspeaker equipped tshirt on the planet, so if you're into these kind of things, don't hesitate for a second.
You can shock/terrify/entertain your surrounding with the 20 bits of music/sounds on the SD card within the player connected to the shirt's speaker, or you can simply add mp3 files of your own liking, even connect an mp3 player (with a male to male cable), the controller allows to pause the sounds, loop them and adjust the volume too. Get a pack of 4 AAA batteries, they're not included!
According to the instructions one can wash the shirt after removing the Velcro-attached speaker and controller. The small speaker-cable is allegedly washable, but as of yet I didn't figure out how to detach it from the speaker (then again I'm not technically gifted).
I go now, to think of the bazillion possibilities/situations in which a well timed unexpected soundbite is going to make my day...

best. gift. ever, October 18, 2009
This review is from: ThinkGeek Personal Soundtrack T-Shirt (Apparel)
i picked this up for my husband and it is perfect! the speaker comes right out for easy wash, the shirt was a little tight around the middle (but i don't think that's the shirt's fault), and the remote slipped easily into his pocket. it was by far his favorite of the birthday gifts he was given.
