5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, December 5, 2009

Best album I have purchased in 2009. I started to choose new artists by album cover, taking chances on groups to experience groups I never would have. I am extremely happy I purchased this album. It is fun, energetic and heart-felt (The Gambler). Stand out songs for me are The Gambler, Walk the Dog and Barlights.

Fantastic group, I highly recommend. Do yourself a favor and purchase this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars their name describes the genre of their music, November 22, 2009
Amazing CD! Very upbeat and catchy with a hint of Queen along with jazz and some orchestra rolled into this ridiculous combination of tunes. Makes me wanna dance around and puts the biggest grin on my face. Truly need to give Fun. a high five when I see them...Truly need to.

This album is amazing. I heard a lot of bad things about the band, but I personally love Nate Ruess just as much as I loved him in The Format. This album has a lot of instrument back tracks, violin, piano, horns, female vocals, etc. that gives the album a dynamic sound. There are fun songs like "All the Pretty Girls" and "At Least I'm Not as Sad (As I Used to Be)" that are feel good anthems, as well as cute love songs like "The Gambler" and "Coming Home." There are some interesting guitar riffs and these musicians definitely have talent. Nate Ruess lets his beautiful voice free in this album and it sounds great. Love it.

I checked this album out on a whim, because Amazon.com recommended it and I was pretty starved for good, new music. What a great blind buy! Read more

So I actually wasn't really a big fan of The Format, and this generally isn't the type of music I really listen to. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic.
All I really have to say is that this is hands down the best CD I've purchased all year. It's amazing.
