Its a refurb--but works great. Called Garmin--they gave me the code to upgrade the maps NA and Europe. If you know what that costs with any GPS you know 150 for the device and both current maps is a steal.

Bought one of these new and it was junk, junk, junk. Not a commercial grade product. Had them replace it and I got another similarly dysfunctional product. Trying to get them to swap it out under the warranty but this is hard to do as you can't get them on the phone - over 30 minutes wait times by their voicemail - I'm at 30 minutes and still waiting. Have bought another different GPS to replace this one which is now an expensive blob on the shelf.

*** BEWARE *** If that is the new experience, I would certainly NOT buy a refurb. I wouldn't buy a new one either.
