I have had a Hag Capisco 8106 saddle chair for years. I recently made a temporary move across the country and left my chair behind assuming I'd make do with whatever I could find locally. Unfortunately, my back is REALLY paying the price now. I was always the one with the iron back - the only one in my circle with no back problems. Now I'm wondering if it was simply due to my chair!

It is a very unique chair, which is obvious right from the picture. And many people who have tried out my chair find it uncomfortable, so I can only assume it must fit a certain body type. Or maybe people are so used to simply sitting flat in a chair, they aren't interested in such a variable, whimsical seat. You can sit forwards, spin it around and lean your front against the back, or even sit on it sideways. Every square inch is useful. And each of these positions gives your body some variation. And the height and back are easily adjusted. But I think one of the things that makes this best for me is my thighs don't have to be parallel to the floor - they can tilt downwards and I think that helps with my back posture and fatigue. And I tend to roll my feet around on the little feet rests instead of leaving them flat on the floor. I have to say, I loved it this chair moment I tried it out in the showroom.

But now I can't find it anywhere! I can't imagine people ordering this chair over the internet (which I'm about to do) unless they are already familiar with it. It's so unusual, how can they anticipate whether it will work for them or not? It's not really a saddle - it's more midway between a saddle and a chair. And the way you can lean all over it - it's so versatile - is very un-saddle like.

The construction is not like regular office chairs. It's expensive and worth it. It is REALLY beautifully made, from the stitching to the mechanical mechanisms. It's rock-solid, stable (not at all tippy) and stands up to abuse. I bought one in leather and it seems built to last a lifetime. The one negative for me is it is heavy (as task chairs go) and bulky. Since I move so much I prefer things that are lightweight and collapsible. Even inflatable. But the Hag Capisco is something I'm obviously going to have to make an exception for in the future. My back can't live without it.

I have had my Capisco chair for a little over a year now and it has really changed my life. I used to have very poor posture while I was working and would have to take breaks often. I can now sit at the computer all day and not have my back and neck hurt like with my Aeron chair before. My knees are always situated below my waist which has also improved the circulation in my legs. No more feet falling asleep!

This chair is built like a tank. You can tell from the solid aluminum base, steel pnuematic lift and industrial casters. It is also so beautiful. I highly recommend it.

I spend a lot of time in front of a computer and/or at a drafting table. That's why I think it's a wise investment to have a chair that is comfortable no matter the cost. When I saw the Hag Capisco chair online I was intrigued by its unique features and that it was advertised as a task chair. Although this chair has the option of a normal seat cushion I decided that the saddle seat would be worth checking out, to compare it to the other chairs that I own (Herman Miller's Aeron chair and a Martin Drafting chair).

I have to say that the Capisco is not that comfortable and I don't like sitting in it for an extensive amount of time. I've had this chair for about 8 years and its relegated to my old computer set-up, which is mainly for guests. The only positive I can say is that it is built solid and the reverse cowboy position, in which you straddle the backrest, is a nice option.
