This movie is one of my favorites by far. I respected Andrew McMahon and all of his music before but this video will even make people who aren't fans of his respect him and what he writes about. It is definitely really depressing. My mother actually bawled her eyes out when he wrote and sang the song for his sister Katie. If anybody is questioning whether or not they should buy this movie, they definitely should. Some people will also have a personal connection with him and his family because some people have experienced or are experiencing what he went through. This movie is probably the best $16.00 that i have ever spent. I hope that you think the same. Hopefully this review helped you decide if you want to purchase this movie or not. I would because it is just that good. :) Happy Buying!

This movie was amazingly good! There were parts that were funny, but the majority of it is sad... so get your tissues ready when watching it. It's a good film to represent the hardships that not only Andrew went through during his time of treatment for his Leukemia, but everyone else that has had to go through those same or similar hardships as the ones in the film, even if it's another disease like cancer. Andrew makes a stand by being courageous enough to turn his clips into this wonderful movie and showing it to the world. This is definitely a movie you want to watch if you are a fan of either Jack's Mannequin or Something Corporate. It will help you to truly appreciate Andrew's music that much more.

I bought this DVD after my 17 daughter met Andrew at a concert his band was performing at in Brisbane Australia in Feb this year. She was so excited when she got home and told me how wonderful Andrew was and she couldn't believe how much he has achieved since being diagnosed with Leukaemia. My daughter was diagnosed in 2008 with a rare form of Leukaemia and had a bone marrow transplant 5months later, she told me about Dear Jack and said she couldn't buy in Australia, so I surprised her and bought it through Amazon. We watched it together and cried together, Andrew is truly inspirational, but then so is my daughter, it is hell what they go through, but thankyou Andrew for sharing your journey, I think it is important that people see there is more to this illness than feeling sick, and loosing your hair. I highly recommend this DVD, thanks Andrew you have given my daughter the confidence to do things she wouldn't of done before because she didn't want people knowing about her illness.

Such an amazing video. It gives you a whole new level of respect for Andrew and his music. I would definitely recommend this video, not only for those who like the music, but just because it is an overall awesome documentary. For those of you who have gone through similar situations with family members, it will make you bawl! I've watched it twice and cried both times. Get it, watch it, no questions asked!!

If you like Something Corporate or Jack's Mannequin, this is a must-see. This film gives you a whole new perspective on Andrew McMahon's life as well as dealing with a deadly disease like Leukemia.

It is good. Any fan of Andrew's will most likely enjoy watching it.
Andy is a beautiful soul, a light for all he touches.
This film shares his spirit, his struggles, the sweet love story with his adorable wife, the powerful love of a supportive family & a very hopeful outlook on surviving cancer.
It does not include the most difficult stage of his fight with cancer, as he stopped filming when things got too crazy after his Stem Cell transplant. (I believe the trailer says he captured everything on tape, so I was surprised that was not actually the case.)
The emotional, heart touching song he wrote for his sister, (who's generous choices helped save his life), "There There Katie" is one of my favorite things about this film.
Totally worth it.

This is an amazing story. Anyone who is an old school Something Corporate fan, as am I, or a Jack's Mannequin fan, or just someone who wants to hear a good story about the struggle with cancer, this is for you. It's a gripping documentry of what Andrew McMahon went through to beat his cancer. It is difficult to watch at some points. For anyone who has grown up with his music, you'll feel the same. It was like watching a loved one slowly waste away. I commend Andrew for documenting his experience and sharing it with the world. I can only imagine what a difficult time that was for him in his life.

I bought this because I'm a huge fan of Andy's music. Not just Jacks Mannequin.

I sat down expecting the usual band/personal bio, but wow. We he started talking about his sister and the song he wrote her I was on the verge of choking up.

To anyone who's a fan of Andy's Piano driven music, I think this has given me a little more insight into understanding some of the subtle meanings in his music.
