I just wrote this review to bump up the star rating. This is episode #515 soon after Joel left so the show was adjusting to Mike being on-screen. They show the short "Cheating" at the beginning of the episode and stick with it during the breaks because it had a clearer plot than the movie. There were good jokes in the episode, not their strongest episode but I always enjoy Mystery Science Theater 3000.

If you enjoy MST3K, go check out Rifftrax and Cinematic Titanic.

The short is quite funny and in its own right is one of the best shorts done by MST3K. However, the movie is long and tedious. The MST3K crew does do a good job at riffing, but some films are just hard to watch. This is one of them.

Really funny film, and even slightly enjoyable if you're into 60's stuff like me. Laugh-In meets Twilight Zone meets comic book...kinda. Lots of random, silly go-go dancing and half-arsed attempts to fight crime. Funny subtext about the dangers of drugs.

Hosts witty as always, particularly on the short (which goes on to inform most of the hosts' sketches). It's about a kid with a massive jaw who cheats on a test...actually, I'm still a bit fuzzy on the details.

Probably one of my favorite MST3Ks.

With THE WILD WORLD OF BATWOMAN, Mike and the bots come very close to being unable to make it bearable. This infamous Jerry Warren (TEENAGE ZOMBIES, FRANKENSTEIN ISLAND, INCREDIBLE PETRIFIED WORLD) "film" is a mindless, skull-crushingly dull experience in cinematic torture. It has something to do w/ a super heroine named BATWOMAN, her legion of go-go gals, and her Mexican-wrestling-mask-wearing nemesis named RAT FINK. The non-action revolves around an atomic hearing aide (!!) and some drugged, dance-routine-inducing soup. Wish the MST3Kers luck w/ this mastodon log! This is one movie that makes them earn every penny of their paycheck! Pray for them...

This movie is so bad, I don't think Mike and the bots' riffing even made The Wild World of Batwoman watchable! I guess if you are into girls go-go dancing then this might be for you, but hip gyrations can only carry a movie so far, and then the movie really should deliver *something*. This one delivered nothing except pain. The riffing during the short on cheating was entertaining, though!

If you're a fan you'll get it. If you're not you won't. It's not the campy stupid movie, it's Joel or Mike and the bots, particularly Tom. These can be watched over and over again, there's always something to laugh about even though you know what's coming.

There are a few MST3Ks that just don't work, because the underlying movie is sooo bad that it sucks the life out of the whole production. Red Zone Cuba is one example, this is another. There's just not much the guys can do with it.

A good MST3K for fans of the series...the only problem being that the film itself is SO weird that it almost parodies itself without any help from the SOL crew.
