The first two seasons of "Reboot" were pretty fun and clever, with moments of genius scattered in the late second season. But "ReBoot: Season Three and Four" is when the series becomes truly mind-blowing, introducing season-long arcs about redemption, friendship, mercy, viral contamination and the slow destruction of Mainframe. This is dark stuff!

Bob is gone, and Megabyte is on the verge of conquering Mainframe. The only ones who still stand in his way are Phong, Dot, Mouse, AndrAIa and the new Guardian cadet Enzo -- who also have to do the games. But when Enzo and AndrAIa actually lose one of their games, they can only survive by temporarily becoming game sprites, and riding the game out of Mainframe.

Since time goes much faster in the games, Enzo (now calling himself "Matrix") and AndrAIa soon grow into a brooding, rough renegade and his more kindhearted girlfriend. They use the games to travel from world to world, searching for a way back to Mainframe -- and also searching for a way to find Bob.But even Bob may not be able to save Mainframe now, especially now that the Guardians are in thrall to a supervirus.

The fourth season was originally two TV movies, which were later split into two mini-arcs. The supervirus Daemon has infected all the Guardians except Bob, but she can only infect the entire Net if she has him -- and Mainframe's salvation will come from an unexpected source. And then a SECOND Bob arrives in Mainframe, leading to questions about which is the real Bob -- and throwing Dot's wedding plans into turmoil.

I enjoyed the first two seasons of "Reboot," but they were pretty episodic and sometimes simplistic in their storylines.

Let me first start out by saying that ReBoot was one of my favorite shows to watch while growing up and remains a great series to this day. That being said, this review is based on what I think of the actual product rather than the show itself.

I was lucky enough to buy the original season 3 and 4 DVDs that were previously released but are no longer in production. I loved them but as some of you may know, there was an audio error with the season 4 DVDs that made the characters voices sound deeper than they were supposed to. For that reason, I decided to purchase the newly released DVDs in hopes that the problem would be fixed. Although the voices sound fine in these DVDs, the picture quality is unfortunately nothing compared to the originals. The original season 4 DVDs had near HD quality while the new releases looked rather fuzzy in comparison. It's for that reason I could not rate the product any higher than 3 stars. The picture isn't terrible by any means but I am disappointed that it simply doesn't look as good as I know it could.

After all is said and done, I would recommend these DVDs if you love ReBoot and don't yet own the series. However, I would say that if you're a stickler for picture quality, you might want to seek out the originals if you can still find them.

I can't name an episode of this I didn't like... What really got me was Number 7. I highly recommend watching the series all the way through though. Just awesome!

The third and fourth seasons of Reboot are completely epic. The more childish tone of the first and second season turns into something more adult as the themes of loss, redemption and sacrifice take center stage. The campy humor and pop culture references remain intact while the action pick ups and the story arcs increase in length. The Daemon Rising Arc brings the new heights as the fate of all system rest in the hands of the heroes. The last few episodes make some revelations about the beginnings of the story and feature an old enemy resurgent.

Until I bought the boxsets I wasn't even aware that there was a season 4! Dated by todays standards, this by know means is not boring. I like how the show took a dark side turn in the last couple of seasons and the only thing that I am disappointed in is that they left us with a cliffhanger never to be finished. One thing I saw on other reviews was the quality of the sound which I have no clue as to what they were talking about. My system was perfect with audio and video.

I remember this from the early 90s and it was fantastic; however, didn't know they had season 3 and 4. I read the reviews and they were kind of downers on it, but I find these 2 seasons terrific. Yes, they are different than the first 2 seasons, but they are great! You really need to watch the entire show from season 1 through 4 to understand. Which they had more!

The entire Reboot series is excellent, these two seasons being the best of the four. Unfortunately, it didn't come with a lot of extras. You're better off getting the Definitive Mainframe Edition.
