In comparison to the other seasons of Top Shot (seasons 1-3), I had to give it two stars. It wasn't a competition of highly qualified competitive shooters. It was Big Brother or Survivor with high caliber weapons. We didn't start watching Top Shot for the in-house drama. We started watching for the talent of the contestants. If I wanted to watch an hour full of adults whining about alliances and, refusing to vote to send their "friends" home, despite their performance in competition. I'd turn on any one of the numerous reality shows out there. Way to ruin a good show History Channel.

My son and I enjoyed every season of Top Shot. We wish the program could be picked up and more seasons would be created.

The format changed for the better in season 5. Less tension between shooters. There was an artificially created emotional content to seasons 1 - 4 that was eliminated in season 5.

I was scornful about the previews on the History Chanel, but then I caught one of the last episodes, and I was addicted. This season has it all - the underdog, the blowhard, the leader, the comedian, in addition to great displays of sportsmanship, technical skill and amazing challenges. What I loved was the camaraderie, the zest for competition, and particularly the contestants' excitement for each weapon presented. Kyle's commentary reflects his keen intellect, and Colby Donaldson is a fine host. The Behind the Bullet episode was better edited than most reunion specials. I would absolutely recommend this season regardless of whether you like firearms simply because it is entertaining, and it makes weapons seem fascinating. My only criticism with the show is that if there is an uneven number on one team, the team that won the last challenge should get to select, who should be exempt for the upcoming challenge, otherwise, it gives the losing team an unfair advantage.

I just started watching Top Shot beginning with Season 4, and my first time using Amazon Instant Video to watch them. Kudos to Amazon for getting the episodes up so quickly after airing, literally the day after, and in good quality.

The contestants this season were phenomenally skilled, and the challenges unique and difficult. Top Shot was more interesting to watch than other competitive reality shows because there was less backstabbing and cattiness overall (even on the Blue team). Colby did a great job as enthusiastic host in his appropriately attired jeans and work boots. I'm glad this season had more exposure of the self-taught shooters. Loved watching the Red team's camaraderie- Chee Kwan, Gabby, Chris, Gary, and Kyle. Kyle was the glue that held the Red team together with his strategy and honesty.

The only downside is that Top Shot may not be coming back for a Season 5, because it's allegedly too expensive to produce. No doubt those Milkor-MGLs are pricey!
This is a great show to watch for non-shooters and shooters alike, to simply be awed by the raw talent and accuracy.

A combo of marksmen competition and reality show. Although I find the format of Season 5 - The All Stars much better than the first four seasons, these seasons are still great to watch for the variety of weapons they have to master and compete with. Starting with 16 marksmen, it gets whittled down to a final 'Top Shot' by the end.

From primitive weapons, to modern weapons, there is probably something you haven't seen or used yourself. The competitions themselves are innovative as well; some really turn the competitors on their heads.

The 'House' drama aspect of the first four seasons is my only complaint about he show, but minor to me, since I watch for the competitions and weapons.

If you like watching men and women shoot difficult targets, as well as some trick shots, and like seeing many different types of weapons, then I think you'll like these seasons.

A far cry (althought at times, not too far) from the whiny reality shows out there, Top Shot is all the excitement of a thrilling competition, plus cool firearms that average Joes hardly ever see, plus a dose of artillery history and physics, and some explosions on top. This is one of those shows that you find yourself wanting to watch "just one more," way past your bedtime.

This was the worst Top Shot season so far. The producers seem to be relying on more gimmicks and less on shooting. The contestants seem to have been picked by a marketing focus group with no regard to actual qualification. When somebody wins, I don't get the feeling that they won because they are good shooters. More often, they won because they sucked the least and/or got lucky. The shooters that ARE good don't shine due to the nature of the challenges. In previous seasons, some shooters still managed to shine through all the BS. This season, less so.

Basically, all the usual things wrong with Top Shot just get magnified in this season--more heavy on showbiz, and more light on rigor. I expect the next season to have even more gimmicky weapons, even more watered-down and unrealistic challenge that are difficult for reasons unrelated to shooting ability, and celebrity contestants.
