As a science teacher, I found this investigation fascinating, and a useful starting point for various classroom science lessons and activities.

The contention about shadows having differing angles touches on the matter of objects casting different shadows, and not necessarily multiple sources of illumination.

The contention about the flag moving in a vacuum is addressed by the question of the absence of air resistance and its effect on persistent flag movement after it is turned.

The contention about well-preserved footprints is addressed by the behavior of pointed particles in a vaccum and its difference from rounded sand particles, on Earth, in the absence of water to bind them.

The contention about the astronaut being illuminated even when in the shadow of the lunar module touches on the 8% albedo (reflectance) of the illuminated lunar surface.

The contention about trick photography and astronauts hopping on the lunar surface touches on the nature of one-sixth gravity as well as questions about the ability of slowed-down photography to duplicate the astronauts' ambling.

This episode of MythBusters deals with debunking Moon Landing conspiracy theory myths. There has been a great deal of pseudoscience and observational "evidence" by the doubters to back the claim that man has never walked on the moon.

Jamie, Adam, Tory, Grant, and Kari tackle such favorites as the Lighting in the Pictures, the Waving Flag, the Bouncy Walking, and the Crisp Footprint. We also get see Adam in "Zero" gravity on the "Vomit Comet" (a plane that flies in extreme parabolic arcs to simulate weightlessness), which is always fun if you have seen other episodes where Adam is subjected to anything with motion (boats, flying, etc).

This is a very fun episode and is one of my favorites!

Another great season of interesting, fun and funny myths tested. Often the Mythbusters test historic accounts as well as urban legends but either way, they always do it with a sense of fun and exploration that's refreshing. Since they never seem to get bored, I never get bored. Highlights this season include End with a Bang, Alcohol Myths and Curving Bullets but they're all fun this season.
A warning to DVD set buyers: beware of the "collections." They're not full seasons but selected episodes repackaged into sets. Most of the advertising is very misleading so look carefully before you buy a box set. It might be random episodes instead of the full 30 of a complete season.

Admittedly I'm a big fan of Mythbusters; I stumbled across their show a number of years ago and have seen every episode they've made. I find their approach to science and problem-solving engaging and fun. I didn't get much science in my education (professional musician) so I've learned a lot even from the silliest myths they bust.

One aspect of the show that's often overlooked is their persistently good demonstration of critical thinking and problem-solving. I think they set a fine example for young people; I'm just hoping their parents get them to pay attention!

This is a great show; I have an 11 year old, and a 17 year old, and they love to watch it together! It gets kids interested in sciences by connecting them to everyday and extraordinary events, and promotes thinking by staging "what if" scenarios in a scientific environment. The main characters are goofy, larger-than-life, loveable, and brilliant. Highly recommend!

I would recommend this to anyone who wants to learn something in a fun way. The quality of the streaming was great and the purchase process was super easy. This show would be in the category with Modern Marvels and How It's Made. I am a science teacher and this is a show my students enjoy. Airing in a classroom is easy as can be.
