The show holds its own relative to other reality shows. Although it starts out trying to promote the boy band from South Africa, the fascinating storyline of course is the interpersonal relationships within the family. I found it refreshing to see a family with so much love and acceptance. Dina is obviously a unique character who has created a life for herself separate from her husband. It is troubling to watch the train wreck her step daughter seems to be headed for with her highly inappropriate boyfriend and a lot of drama is created watching Dina struggle to balance her love for her girls, her strong mothering instinct combined with her survivor skillset shaped by hardship against her girls needs to become independent and escape her strong influence.

Mrs. Eastwood balanced the wild adventures of her step daughter with the tremendous heart of Dina and her excellent foil the housekeeper Lisa with her steadying influence and practical albeit unexpected brand of advice.

Dina didn't have the momager drive of the Kardashian matriarch, but her story would have been about turning a an extended assortment of children from many backgrounds into a family bound together by love, compassion and understanding. She obviously is not satisfied living only in the long shadow of Clint Eastwood. Unfortunately her bubbling extroverted exuberance comes into direct conflict with the longtime Hollywood heavyweights' commitment to privacy.

It's a shame that Dina Eastwood didn't get a chance to continue to find her voice and create a platform for herself. She has a beautiful and unique perspective which combines her hard scrabble upbringing with efforts to improve herself and create a happy family.

Vapid reality show complete with the requisite spoiled children and dilettante mom. I know little about Clint Eastwood's personal life, but I had thought that since he had been mayor of his California town, there was a serious side to him. From that I thought that maybe this series would be more about projects to help the community, not anguish over a belly-button piercing. Who cares?

I wish Dina could have continued the show, too. It's a really positive message for people, especially in the light of so many awful fights in other "reality shows." Did Clint make Dina stop? I really enjoyed "binge watching" the whole season. Would love to know how everyone is doing now, three years later.

I am a fan of Clint Eastwood! So love his family and everything they do. Have just returned from a visit to Carmel Ca. where I spent 2 nights at the Mission Ranch. Didn't get to see Clint but loved the stay just the same.
