This family is happy and supportive of one another. Its obvious they deeply care for each other and are looking out for their best interests. No, they aren't living in LA arguing over which fall fashion line to buy and that is no reason to tear them to shreds. They have limited means but they make the most of it and know how to have fun. Its a different subculture than what you are used to seeing on tv but get over it. Highly entertaining, and Im constantly laughing. Makes for good tv.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. I ended up laughing at this stereotype of uneducated unwholesome family life in the fry-daddy rural south. I felt more ashamed of myself with each episode I watched. But it sure was funny and if the series was mean spirited in concept the Honey Boo Boo clan diffused it and disarmed it with their willingness to laugh at themselves. They embrace their lifestyle. They love each other. In the end I had to wonder who's zoomin' who. In a clear and mean attempt to poke fun, it was clearly the Boo Boo family who was laughing last and loudest.

I love this show and this family. I know that people criticize June for some of her parenting techniques, but the result is a family that loves each other very deeply. Alana missed a pageant because of the birth of her niece and was OK because she knew family came first. How many other children would take not getting what they wanted so matter-of-factually and without complaint? Not many. I could picture myself hanging out with these folks and having a lot of laughs. I look forward to watching season 2 and seeing what the Thompson Gals come up with next. Poor, Sugar Bear....;-D

Don't be uptight, don't judge people and watch this great show! This family is great!! Loving and close knit, I love how they create and entertain themselves! We all have a little "pumpkin" or Mama June in us!

Okay, they're disfunctional and obese (and who isn't nowadays?), but they have fun! I respect these country folks much more than I do the fake makeup-incrusted Kardashians. Mama June loves her kids, and she tells it like it is; there's nothing fake about her; she's the real deal. Two thumbs up on this one.

My guess is TLC thought they hit the Redneck jackpot with this family and planned to exploit them for fun and profit. They've got extreme couponing, the Redneck games, the teenage, unmarried pregnancy, obesity, toddler pageants, roadkill bbq, and a couple other negative American stereotypes thrown in for fun. They're probably kicking themselves that they couldn't manage hoarding. (I mean TLC is more carnival side-show than learning channel anymore). I think it backfired on them when the family didn't turn out to be a bunch of fist fighting, bitter and angry Rednecks on food stamps who were paranoid over the government. Instead they got a family that loved and supported each other.

While I think the entire pageant system is a huge scam and detrimental to the self-esteem of young girls (and boys), Alana seems to think they're fun. Her family has a much healthier attitude towards her participation than most pageant parents as in, it's great if she wins but they don't punish her if she loses. I do think they'd be better served if they directed her energy elsewhere.

I'm just glad they got rid of Glitzy the pig. THAT was annoying.

For those of you who haven't been 'bit' by the Boo Boo 'bug' you really should give it a chance. It may take a few episodes but by the end you'll find that this family, although very simple minded, are all about family in the end. Fame hasn't gone to their head and they stand by their values. Certainly a 180 from the garbage out there on all those Housewife shows!

It wouldn't be reality tv if it wasn't a spectacle! These GA rednecks are self-proclaimed and proud. At first you can't help but watch, and by the end of the show you're hooked. Honey Boo Boo and her family have no regrets and no excuses, what you see is what you get and I love it!! You can't help but be charmed by Alana and her very one-of-a-kind family, and God love them for just putting it out there for the world to see. Sugar Bear you're a sweet man for putting up with so many overcharged female personalities. A genuine family who wants to see their little girl succeed, and you can't help but root for Honey Boo Boo...she's hilarious and in her own way adorable! You better redneckneconize!!
