Fine and some good info but more into the drama and the let us fill in the blank of what we think happened. I don't want fluff but like I said some was great. If you are not into real deep history you will get quite a bit from this

So entertaining, but also educational. I've seen all the movies, so it's nice to get the real scoop. So far, it's amazing how true to history, many of the box office hits have been. Can't go wrong with this series, pure entertainment for just about anyone.

I love these little documentaries about science and history underlying popular movies. They're engaging without being over the top, and they focus much more on interviews and real footage than on cheesy reenactments.

The titanic episode was interesting but a year after this episode also released by the Smithsonian was a documentally called Titanic's final mystersy which was way more interesting. It reveals that on the night the titanic went down it was perfect condition for a "fake horizon" a mirage that totally hide the iceburg from view so there wasn't much time to see the iceburg before they actually hit it. Its an optical illusion that sea captains and sailors have been aware of for many years. why is it they were able to determine that in this episode that the California wasn't able to get to the titanic in time because an optical illusion made it appear closer to the titanic than it was but for some reason they couldn't deduce that the iceburg would then be completely obscured to the titanic also by an optical illusion i do not know. But a year later they concluded this, but it still bothers me that for years the captain and look outs were continuously blamed for the sinking of the titanic and even in this video the captain was blamed. The other documentary they completely exhortate the captain and state he was a great captain. which is it? Was he a captain who was playing things fast and lose so to speak. Who was speeding and had had one too many close calls or some minor crashes and was "too old" as they say in this episode. Or was he a great captain as they say in the final mystery documentary. I mean they even suggest in this episode that he must of had a complete melt down. All I know is now they not only have scientifically proven that there was a "fake horizon" that night but they had eye witness accounts of the same optical illusion from a russian vessel that night that was nearby. They never saw the iceburg coming til it was too late. It was a horrible accident. Yes we have since learned from it as far as safety regulations are concerned but it was a terrible accident.

Kind of show that's good for a season or two then the "formula" starts getting old, predictable and even stale. Reminds one of those "but wait, if you call right now" TV knife or dicer ads

I have purchased several of these. I haven't purchased full seasons because not episodes are of interest to me. However the ones I have watched are quite good.

There were many programs were the focus was of no interest to me. Of those selected some of the "Real Story" was very surprising. Always entertaining.

Pretty good stories. Some of it needs to watched with a grain of salt so to speak. Just accept them as fun stories and enjoy!
