If you hate the "Real Housewives of Wherever" franchise; you will love Roseanne's take on a 'reality' show. Her and her son, Jake, are like a 24/7 comedy act; the wisecracks and witticisms flow freely. Roseanne and her boyfriend live on a farm/ranch in Hawaii (knock the "mansion" visual out of your mind-it's just a regular house like ours), and are trying to get a Macadamia nut business going. There's a loony surfer dude who camps out on their land, crazy grandkids running wild, a trio of musicians who comically link segments together....and on and on.
I think the network didn't promote this one-season series enough; and unfortunately, the world is missing out.

My daughter & I LOVED this show. I'm not sure why. I HATE reality shows, but this one resonated with us. I have never watched the Kardashions or Jersey Shore or Donald Trump. This series is a much needed respite from the BS that is out there.

I'll admit that I originally watched the first episode of this out of curiosity, not expecting a lot. However, once I got hooked, I got really hooked. Now that I've finished all of the episodes, I wish there was a second season!

As someone else mentioned, this was not a "look how rich I am" reality series. Her house was not a mansion and she did not have servants. She surrounded herself with love - from her son and daughter to her boyfriend to her dear, if somewhat wacky friends. I got the feeling that we were seeing the "real" Roseanne and she was a delight. She was always one to "tell it like it is," and that hasn't changed.

What surprised me was how many times I was touched watching this. Particularly memorable was when she was asked to sing the "Star Spangled Banner" for a girl's softball game. After the fiasco which sunk her career, it offered her a chance for redemption. It also scared her to death. When she finally decided to go through with it and sang the song, I found myself in tears. Call me crazy, but it made me a Roseanne fan for life!

I recommend this series if you want to laugh and cry and be entertained. I think it will surprise you.

As a recent Amazon Prime member, I ran across this show in the free streaming section. I hadn't even heard of it before, but I've always enjoyed "Roseanne", the television show. These 10 or so episodes show Roseanne's new life as a Hawaiian citizen, living alongside her boyfriend on their self-sustaining farm. As Roseanne has grown wiser, she carefully examines her relationship with her children and now grandchildren who are often guests on this reality series. She is invited to sing the National Anthem at a local game, and sings it proudly. She makes amends with herself and the public. Celebrities also featured in this series of episodes include in the incomparable Phyllis Diller and Michael Fishman, who played D.J. on the Roseanne show. Try it, you just might like it!

I watched the whole series in a week. The best part was NO commercials. It had some funny moments (like her talking to the pig) and I saw parts about Roseanne's life I never knew about (like the severity of the aftermath of the San Diego incident). I liked how she was into Hawaii but her beau and son appeared a little removed (like it could have been Bakersfield for all they cared). I'd like to have seen more of Hawaii, inter island travel and maybe interaction with other celebs. And would have been interesting to see her get into the social media scene in Hawaii too. I guess those nuts never materialized on the store shelves. A fun take away was having to catch myself dropping the F bomb. Roseanne's still got it, but what to do with it is the question...

She's crass, but in this setting it totally works. Seeing Roseanne behave the way she has around "normal" people has been uncomfortable over the years... but seeing her in her element, surrounded by her adult children and her hilarious granola boyfriend, she seems almost normal herself and I laugh and cry along with the family.

I do recommend this to people with a healthy sense of humor. She laughs at herself a lot as well, and you might enjoy seeing a more humble side of Roseanne.

I'll admit, this show is a typical reality show; obviously scripted and fake and not very good quality...BUT miss Roseanne Barr does not disappoint, she is so funny on this show! If you're into her kind of humour you will laugh your ass off! She is down to earth and not afraid to make fun of herself...her boyfriend reminds me of Howard Stern and her son is cute and funny as well. Definitely recommended for any Roseanne fan.
