First episode of Bosch is a combination of two of Michael Connelly's books in the Bosch series: Concrete Blonde and City of Bones. Titus Welliver in the title role nails it...he portrays Bosch's inner turmoil about his past and his drive to make "everyone count." The supporting cast is excellent -- including the City of Los Angeles, the backdrop for all of Harry Bosch's stories.

If you're a fan of the books, the pilot will not disappoint. If you're new -- the crIme drama is compelling, but do yourself a favor and get the books!

LAPD Detective Harry Bosch is on trial, accused by a suspected serial killer's family of killing the man in cold blood, when he gets pulled into a search for the killer of a thirteen year old boy.

If you've read the Harry Bosch novels, you'll appreciate how true this show is to the novels. The first time you hear Titus Welliver deliver a line written by Michael Connelly, you will see him as Bosch.

But you don't have to know anything about the novels to enjoy this high-quality police procedural. The writing is clever, the story is gripping, and the acting is top-notch. Just as New York City was a main character in the original Law & Order, the portrayal of Los Angeles is utterly authentic. More please!

For fans of the books - or newcomers to the character - Bosch is a winner. Stellar cast. Strong story. Great use of LA on location. Mature, nicely paced, sophisticated - but also accessible. If the pilot is any indication, Amazon has a winner!

I want more. Acting was great and with so much feeling. It certainly left you wanting more. The way Harry felt reliving his past was so heart wrenching. City of bones was my first Bosch book and it was very much like it so far.

Very taken with this Bosch drama. I was not keen on Welliver being cast as Bosch, but he really nailed the part. There has to be approval for a series, one that could rank as high as Breaking Bad.

This is a well paced and well written show. I loved the use of LA locations and the fact that the whole thing was not rushed. Really hope that Amazon chose this for a series order. Well done Amazon, it's a winner.
