OK... this was a little trickier to learn than just 30 minutes per a popular Youtube video I watched, but I am improving at it after about 1 hour. (I am 47, so maybe a younger person would pick it up a little faster.) I am still working on better turn control, but overall, I am very pleased. The Battery only lasts for about 80 minutes seeing as I was down to 25% Battery at just 60-65 minutes of Usage.... so unless you are going full speed the whole time, I dont think this thing would really go as far as they say. Think of it more as 70-80 minutes of transporation at jogging speed. My kids (12,14,16) made fun of me when I got it, but now, they are all begging to try. LOL!!!

It comes with Training wheels. I am still using them... Looking forward to shedding those in a dozen hours or less!!!

***UPDATE Aug 10, 2015***
As your wheel ages, be VERY VERY VERY Careful as the battery runs low, as my unit will simply turn off as quick as you can snap your fingers with NO WARNING, and send you skidding across the sidewalk / parking lot in a fraction of one second. This has recently happened to me twice. Each time, I got pretty banged up, and sore for a few days. It was NOT A PLEASANT experience. I No longer will ride mine when it reaches 1 light indicator (Less than 20% battery life remaining). BE CAREFUL!!!

The unit is sturdy and very well made, but learning to ride is more of a challenge than the marketing videos would have you believe. For example, you probably won't be riding it to work or school on crowded streets or sidewalks, as doing so would pose a significant danger to yourself and others unless you've become a seasoned expert. Also, riding on anything except PERFECTLY SMOOTH surfaces is a challenge until you become very proficient. The first time you leave a smooth surface, you'll immediately feel a loss of control. Riding can be great fun, but be prepared for some spills when learning, so definitely wear a bicycle helmet and protective gear on your elbows, knees, wrists, and hands. To minimize property damage and injury to yourself and others, learn to ride (with the training wheels attached) in a wide-open, perfectly smooth area. If possible, have a friend hold on to your waist from behind to help steady you. Take special note that the Airwheel is a real "ATTENTION GETTER" in any public place, so take that into consideration when choosing your learning area, as the last thing you're going to want or need is an audience!

The seller is excellent. The shipping was very fast considering it had to come all the way from China, and the unit arrived in about a week. Just after I placed my order I had an electrical question about charging the device here in the states and emailed the seller. They responded within 5 minutes telling me charging would be no problem.

I'd definitely buy from this seller again.

-Great purchase. Ships very fast. Training takes a couple of days. Shin protectors worn on the inner side of the legs are the must! It's fun even with training wheels. Once you learn how to ride without them ( took me 3 days couple of hours a day) it's really a great thing to ride.

-Two weeks after I bought the unit I took it for the trip and had no problems going through TSA and bringing/riding it on the plane both times. Riding in the airport was fun and made it fast and easy to get to gate. Beware, it's a real head turner and does attract a lot of attention...

<Edit added above the original review>
(Jne 27) I contacted the Seller, who is doing an amazing job of trying to get the Airwheel (and I'm now convinced this IS an authentic Airwheel) running again without having to ship this broken one to China, wait for it to arrive, and be shipped a new one. I am an electronics engineer, so he's using my confidence with electronics to diagnose and potentially resolve the problem. As of yet I'm still stuck with an Airwheel that does not operate. Airwheel continues to stick to their story that I have a counterfeit, despite my sending them pictures of the Airwheel, it's documentation, etc. But things look more promising than they did when I wrote the original review.

<the original review follows below>
Prior to a few weeks ago, I would have given this a five star rating. I'll start with my rant first, then tell what I liked about it prior to the bad.

Airwheel looked up the serial number of my unit and told me it is a FAKE! So now that the unit is defective, I am out of luck and out of money. The seller was "Airwheel Store" when I bought it, but now, only a couple months later, I see it being sold by Gaintek.
The Self Balancing Unicycle worked just long enough for me to start using it as a means of medium range transportation, and then developed a tendency to just - stop balancing - and beep repeatedly. Since I appear to have no recourse for a sale only a few months old, I am trying to discover the problem and solve it myself. It appears to be more prevalent when the battery is fully charged. I have a short video of the unit failing almost instantly on turning it on. http://welchomatic.homelinux.com/airwheel_fail.
