Parenthood is one of the finest shows to ever air on network television. The writing is second to none, and the characters are as real as they get. The series breaks new ground with every episode, and captures real life situations in a way never seen before on network TV. It's a rarity to see topical issues treated in such a fair and honest way, all with a wonderful blend of drama, humor and insight.

With each episode, my wife and I feel as if we're a part of this incredible family. While I'm happy that it was renewed for an abbreviated sixth season, I'm sad that it won't be around for a seventh. In my opinion, this series is ending way before the story is fully told.

I am so sad that this is the last season of Parenthood, one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Julia and Joel better get back together - that's all I can say for now! Just finished episode #7 and am in tears!! What a real, down to earth, true to life experience this wonderful show is. Ahhhh - watch it if you haven't yet!

Just one episode in and one can tell that this will be a fitting farewell to the Braverman family after six much-loved seasons. I first started watching this show on my brother's recommendation in 2010 and was immediately hooked. It is brilliantly scripted and acted, always ringing true. The actors speak what seems to be real dialogue in a realistic manner often interrupting and speaking over one another. I don't know about your family, but that is exactly what mine does. There are two aging parents and four adult children, each with their own families. These characters seem real, flaws and all. The plots never stoop to a soap opera level they are always true to life and topical. And while many current issues in modern life are played out, it does not seem like a season of Oprah, everything is done with a light hand. This season seems to be no exception. In the first episode we pick up where they left off last season with just enough time passing to have brought about the changes hinted at previously. One actually cares about this fictional family, and while it will be sad to see them go, I'm sure that this last season will bring closure and resolution.

If I could give this wonderful series a ten I most certainly would. It is such a relatable storyline that most viewers would walk away having learned a lesson or two. Although the show ends on a sad note, I truly wish I could have more, after all life doesn't stop because the patriarch does. There are some many other family members that would be interesting to follow their lives. I highly recommend this wonderful series, I told many friends and family members to watch this. I truly loved it. Great acting by all especially Max.

This show, in concept and execution, is among the very best television series ever produced. That it was the recipient of few, if any, awards does not diminish its artistry; but, sadly, exposes how inconsequential the self-acclaimed "experts" in programming quality have become. The greatness of "Parenthood's" legacy will, we believe, continue to grow in the years ahead... and it is a fitting tribute that its six seasons will now become a treasured part of DVD collections--to be viewed again and again; and, especially important, made available to those who did not have an opportunity to experience the artistry of "Parenthood" when it originally aired. Congratulations to everyone who was responsible in the creation of this extraordinary event! --Ron & Renee Howe / Erskine, Minnesota

I have been watching this wonderful show since day one and have never been disappointed. It is a breath of fresh air in a sea of polluted television with no imagination and depth. It is almost like the golden years of television when family shows were the thing to watch. Every episode evokes something in me whether happy or sad. I can relate to some of the issues and every single actor is brilliant. It is not surprising that Ron Howard is part of this production. I will truly miss this memorable show and can only hope that this trend will continue in programming. Thank you again Parenthood!

This is a great show! Can't believe it took me this long to find it. The family intricacies and dynamics are so reminiscent of real life. The Braverman clan are always there for each other and the family every person wishes they had. From the crazy relationships to the fun & games they always seem to be having this is a funny, heart warming and addicting show!

I just watched the final episode. It was well done and fitting to the characters. I'm glad Zeeks fate wasn't over dramatized. I don't think I would want to go away with too much reality around that part of the ending. I see lots of reviews say how real to life this series is to them. I think more than that, it made me reflect on how I bring to MY family and made me mindful of how much it is worth to be the best family member you can be. Parenthood gave me hope and a great example in the Bravermans to strive for in my family endeavors.
