On second thought, kick Joey, June 22, 2004
There is no excuse for this. I'd rather listen to cassette tapes made from my scratchy old albums than hear Joey Molland butcher what I consider to be Muzak versions of classics. Joey is a talented guy and his solo albums, especially of late, will back me up on this. He's also shown all too much of a whorish nature when it comes to squeezing every dime out of something he was a part of thirty years ago. I'm amazed that no one has come up with a decent Badfinger box set with all of the attention being paid to these cash cows these days. Years ago there was a bootleg collection imaginatively titled "Badfinger - Unreleased And Some Released" that contained many songs that had never been released and some that had been released. (Oh, yeah. Hence the title.) That leads me to think that somewhere there is a bunch of old demos and alternate takes just waiting to be dusted off for a big Badfinger box set. Until then, content yourself with the real thing, as the elusive Ass album gets rereleased on June 28.

Don't kick it too hard!, October 12, 2000
This album is what it is, and its certainly not BADFINGER! Recorded at a time when it was close to impossible to get any Badfinger tracks on disk (and the vinyl costs a mint - if you can find it!). Joey Molland released this rehash of the old masterpieces as a stopgap. Nobody can replace the Ham/Evans sound and that is what's at fault. If this had been called Joey Molland's Badfinger, then I think it would have been better recieved, but this is a completist's album, and should bee seen asa that. Dont kick it too hard!

This is NOT Badfinger!, February 8, 2004
This is certainly not Badfinger. Joey Molland gives versions of the hits and a few of his own Badfinger songs. None of these versions come anywhere near the originals in quality. It's really hard to say much positive about these recordings. Buy the original albums instead!!

Joey Molland covers Badfinger?, January 1, 2007
This cd is deceptive with the cover picture of the original group and the "Best of Badfinger" as its title. I can understand how people were mislead into thinking this was original recordings by the original group. But this is in fact Joey remaking the old songs. It's not his production, (if it were the credits would have been spelled correctly), but a job he was offered and accepted. The deceptive cover was done so the cd would sell. Why did Joey do it? My guess is he likes to pay his bills and eat. Sounds like the majority of fans would rather have him laying carpet. And besides what is wrong with someone covering Badfinger? The tribute "Come and Get It" is an excellent cd with none of the group members performing. Sound quality? Not even the Beatles could do Baby Blue or Midnight Caller better than Pete Ham. So why compair? The recording is not THAT bad. Sometimes its good to hear other versions of our favorite songs. Three stars only because it was not presented properly.

If there was a "NO" star rating, this deserves it!, December 19, 2005
This still sounds like cr*p years later. A dollar spent on this is a dollar that you should have lit your last cigarrette with or used to wipe up cat barf with. Both would have better uses of the money rather than buy this piece of... Oh, and to think they've got a picture of the band when it was JOEY alone doing hack versions too! What a wh*re!

This is NOT Badfinger, April 26, 2000
As someone noted - this is NOT the original Badfinger lineup. This is Joey Molland and his band doing Badfinger covers. I'm guessing this was done because Apple had not yet released the "real" best of at the time this was recorded. For completists only.

This CD is a total ripoff--zero stars is an accurate rating, August 19, 2004
I foolishly bought this on Overstock.com assuming that I was going to get something that at least sounded like the original recordings. Silly me! I think these tracks were recorded in a basement using one of those pocket recorders buried under a sweater. Since I didn't spend that much money, I'll probably just toss the CD and keep the jewel case.

Badfinger - the Worst Best of, April 15, 2000
The album "Badfinger The Best of" is a poor attempt by Joey Molland to recreate the sound of a great band with different personnel. The is the 10 cut album beginning with "Come and Get It" and ending with "Midnight Caller". Recorded in 1994, supposedly "digitally", it is the worst example of engineering I have ever come across. The sound is flat, with no depth or vibrancy at all; it sounds like a hasty mono recording of an old stereo LP (at least the digital technique left it with no hiss, pop, or scratches). In addition, the recorded volume level is terrible; I have to turn my car stereo up to 25 to get the same level I get from most other CDs at 16 or 17.The music and vocals are a cheap imitation of the original; the melody and the words are the same, but that's about it. If you like Badfinger, you won't like this album. Spend your money on one of the originals.
