SafeHouse Center is a 501(c)3 non profit corporation (#382121751) established in April of 1975 and dedicated to ending domestic violence and sexual assault in Washtenaw County, Michigan. We provide free and confidential services that include a 50-bed shelter with a children’s playroom, counseling, court accompaniment, information and referrals, and personal advocacy. The SafeHouse Center HelpLine is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to answer calls from survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. The HelpLine also provides a service called the Language Line, which allows a survivor that speaks a language other than English to have a conversation with SafeHouse staff through a confidential interpreter. In the past fiscal year, SafeHouse has provided services to over 5,000 women and children.
