"1976 release of original "Rocky" movie sound track. The movie won Best Picture of the Year, and Bill Conti, genius music composer, was nominated for Best Soundtrack and Best Song ("Gonna Fly Now"). Clearly, this is the best album in terms of quality and awards. This ranks number ONE on my list and is far superior to all the rest that follow."
"The latest soundtrack (2006) puports to have all the best of the Rocky movie music. While a wonderful anthology, it is missing key compositions from Rocky, Rocky II, and Rocky IV. It is the best choice if you just want one Rocky movie music album."
"Rocky IV is the first Rocky sountrack to NOT have Bill Conti as the musical composer, therefore it lacks the essential heart and core of Rocky. However, there are strong vocal selections, and two inspiring instrumentals that make this a pleasing album. I rank it as #4 on my list."
"This anthology of Rocky movie music consists of the best vocal tracks from Rocky IV and two instrumental tracks that are imitations of the Bill Conti originals. A better choice is buying the original Rocky IV sountrack, or Rocky Balboa. Ranked #5 on my list."
"This is the weakest of Bill Conti's scores. The music has been recycled so many times, it loses it's original zest. The only worthy addition is "Eye of the Tiger". Since this track in on Rocky Balboa, why spend the money on this one? Ranked 6th."
