"Very well played by Paul Jacobs and Ursula Oppens. The second disc contains extras and there's a track featuring Aaron Copland as a performer (also when he had a conversation with Jacobs). The Ghost Rags by Bolcom are rather quiet, so you may want to turn up the volume in that part."
"First heard the Philippe Entremont recordings on a Columbia Masterworks LP. Although the LP is a little too scratchy (and I was too picky about that). So, I sold it at a flea market and thought of looking for a CD with the recordings. This is about as close to that album I could get. Worth adding. Very well played."
"Back in the early '90s, when I was a Prodigy member, I asked what would be a really good version of the Beethoven Sonatas in performance and sound. Some mentioned the Ashkenazy version. I've heard this a few times, at least, and would recommend it."
"I originally got a single London Jubilee CD of "Chopin Favourites" which would be the same as CD 1 in this double-CD set. Ashkenazy did very well on the Beethoven Sonatas. He also did very well on these Chopin works."
