The list author says: "Forward-facing carseats with a 5-point harness system provide the best crash protection for toddlers and older kids who have outgrown a rear-facing convertible carseat. Unfortunately, many forward-facing carseats can only be used up to 40 lbs. Here is an up-to-date list of currently available carseats that allow the 5-point harness to be used beyond 40 lbs.
Please note that the weight and height limits vary from seat to seat so make sure you do your research before deciding which seat would be a good choice for your child in your vehicle. Some of these seats are convertible carseats that can be used rear-facing as well as forward-facing. Some of these seats are forward-facing only but can also be used a booster after the child outgrows the 5-point harness. And some of these seats are forward-facing with 5-point harness only. Make sure you understand exactly what the seat is capable of before making a decision."
