Teaching for Social Justice has many facets, so it's up to you how you will introduce it to your students. It is difficult Learning to Teach for Social Justice (Multicultural Education, 11)... That's why I've tried to cumulate some helpful literature to help support a classroom that is willing to pay attention to Social Justice Issues! No matter what you decide, you can easily fit these pertinent issues to any curriculum. If these topics are new to you and your students, a good idea is to start with picture books, no matter what age the students are! While we teach and try to understand Other People's Children: Cultural Conflict in the Classroom, we can use these books to jumpstart those minds to think about the environment, race relations, issues of gender and age, and world relations... and more importantly, how they can become an active agent in changing what they don't see as fit!
