Awareness is perhaps one of the great mysteries of the current illusion we all exist in. Most would see it as something common as we all see generally the same things that everyone else does and so it is easy to categorize our awareness as not unusual. It is analogous to the often repeated admonition to use “common sense.” Common sense is only common when we see something as common and expect everyone else to agree. Everyone sees things slightly differently than everyone else but in the case of awareness it is almost always skewed by the eyes we have been conditioned to see through. Those eyes are our perceptual filters and are the result of a lifetime of conditioning we carry forward with us from the time of our birth to the present. Every aspect of our lives becomes a part of the lens our awareness will see through. The process of awareness is truly a unique and individual experience since no two of us are alike, nor have we had the same life experience. Simply stated, one man’s awareness is not another’s and because my awareness is not the same as your awareness, we now have the basis for judging.
