Carl Edward Sagan was born in 1934 in Brooklyn, New York and died in 1996 in Seattle, Washington, aged 62 years old. His specialities were Astronomy & Planetary Science : he has published over 600 scientific papers & wrote about 20 books. He has received numerous awards including Oersted Medal (1990), NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal (twice), Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction (1978) & National Academy of Science Public Welfare Medal (1994). His novel, "Contact", was made into a movie of the same name!
