If you're looking for a variety of writers and sub-genres within fantasy and speculative fiction that are just plain fun this is the guide for you. These books vary from YA to adult markets and every single one has made me burst out laughing at some point. I have several criteria for a book to be something I enjoy and recommend. All these books meet all 5 listed below.
1. Believable characters that I can invest in. That doesn't necessarily mean that I "like" them, but it does more times than not. 2. Prose that doesn't make me wince. 3. Good pacing. 4. Complex, fully developed world, concepts, or "what if." 5. Convincing dialogue.
