Detailed Installation Instructions

  1. Click the Download the Unbox Video Player button.
  2. Download and run AmazonUnboxVideo.exe.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to proceed through the Amazon Unbox Video - InstallShield Wizard.
  4. The Unbox Video Player requires some additional components to download and play videos (such as the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and Windows Media Player 11). If you don't have these components, they will be installed along with the player. The Start Copying Files page will list each of the components that will be installed and approximately how long each installation will take.

  5. Once installation is complete, launch the Unbox Video Player.
  6. When you launch the Unbox Video Player for the first time, you'll see the Initial Setup window.
    • Provide a name to identify your PC. For example, "Home PC" or "Work laptop." This name will appear as an available download destination for videos you rent or purchase from Amazon Instant Video.
    • Specify whether or not you own a compatible portable video player and want to download portable video files. Downloading portable video files causes downloads to take a bit longer, so we recommend selecting No unless you own and use a portable video player. Don't worry—it's easy to turn this feature on later if you buy a portable video player in the future.
    • Enter the email address and password you use on to buy videos from Amazon Instant Video. You will not be able to change this login information later, so be sure to use the right account information.
