I must have read this book 20 times. It started me in ornamental gardening, and I return to it often.It is most helpful for gardeners in the Middle Atlantic states, but almost anyone can learn from it. Mr. Frederick had a great appreciation for the best in garden plants--trees, shrubs, groundcovers--and he explained what he loved most and why--what's best for your garden, how to grow it, and what to grow with it. Both the pictures and the prose are very fine. |
