4.0 out of 5 stars Fowler Reviews Fallon, March 10, 2005
This review is from: The great mouthpiece: A life story of William J. Fallon (Paperback)
Like many of Mr. Fowler's other works (Beau James, for example), this book is presented more for entertainment than for providing hard historical facts. The essentials of Fallon's life--his major cases as a D.A., his representations of Rothstein, Arnstein, Ernest Fritz and others--are factually documented within this entertaining historical narrative. Fowler layers these hard facts with colorful vignettes from the Roaring 20's to create a novlistic narrative. Overall a good description of Fallon himself and for the sociology of the era in which he lived.
