2.0 out of 5 stars Better solutions out there January 14, 2010

This is a bit of a pain to use. A better solution is Wilton Bite-Size Brownie Squares 24-Cavity Silicone Mold Pan. If you search for Silicone molds there are more options. Having a bit of space makes them freeze faster and much easier to remove from the pan. I tossed this one for the brownie mold and am much happier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Product!! December 17, 2009
Item Package Quantity:1|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a great product. I should have bought more initially but I wanted to try it out first. I am very satisfied with this product. The cubes are easy to extract, just push them out from the bottom and they slide right out. When filing the tray, i just use a plastic pastry bag or a ziploc bag, fill it with the puree and squeeze it into each cube. It's much more efficient then trying to pour in the food or spoon it in and there is no mess involved.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very handy July 9, 2010
Item Package Quantity:1|Amazon Verified Purchase
This product makes the freezing food process more time consuming. You cannot pop the cubes out directly after taking it from the freezer, instead you have to wait until they are a little defrosted and then loosen each cube and push them out from the bottom. The first time I used the tray, I did not wait until the cubes were slightly defrosted when loosening and went right through the side of the tray. Waiting for the cubes to defrost enough to get them out is frustrating and increases the risk of bacteria growth.

3.0 out of 5 stars Use for Babyfood; Kinda annoying October 21, 2009
By Mom
Item Package Quantity:1
Given that every other type of ice cube tray that doesn't leach chemicals is expensive, this product is the best option. Just be aware that it does not work like a typical ice cube tray where you twist it and the cubes spill out. The cubes need to be pushed out from the bottom with my fingers and my hands get cold in the process. So they are kinda annoying. But it's worth it for the price and the non-leaching material. Let me know if anyone can find a BPA/Phalate/PVC free traditional ice cube tray under $8.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very happy with this purchase April 20, 2010
Item Package Quantity:1|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really like this, especially because it's BPA free. Once my baby food is frozen, I take it out and store it in labeled freezer bags to keep them fresh. Some reviews mentioned it was hard to remove the cubes...the first one takes a bit of wiggling, but once one is out, the rest come pretty easy. I just push from the bottom and they slide right out. So far I have pureed sweet potatoes and peas...2 sweet potatoes or about 2 1/2 cups of peas thinned out with breastmilk (or formula) seems to be about the right amount to fill up the tray.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes homade baby food easy February 14, 2010
Item Package Quantity:1|Amazon Verified Purchase
Purchased these to freeze homemade baby food, found them much easier to use than ice cube trays, consistent portions, easy to fill, easy to pop out. I just fill with a spoon, cover w/ press and seal, freeze, pop out and put into labled vacuum sealed bags. I bought four trays so I could make bigger batches of food and they're really handy and wash up in either soap & water or the dishwasher.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Organic, BPA-free Baby Food July 21, 2011
Item Package Quantity:1
I bought two of these to make all my own organic baby food for my twins. This tray lasted the test of time! Being BPA-free I am confident in what I am feeding my children is safe. I also have the confidence of knowing exactly what goes into my childrens' food! Overall, great product that works exactly as described!

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for homemade baby food February 23, 2012
Item Package Quantity:1|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is a must for moms who make their own baby food and have lots of baby food left over. Freezing homemade baby food makes sense economically since you can make wholesome and healthy baby food in mere pennies. I pureed all kinds of fruits and vegetables for my daughter and I always found that I had too much so I decided to look for a product that would help me store and freeze my purees. I liked the fact that it is made of silicon. After freezing my baby food, I would pop them out of the molds and place them in a zip lock bag and then I would put that bag in another bag to prevent freezer burn. I label the outside bag with the date so I know to use it before 3 months (the optimal time to use homemade baby food). The compartments are approximately 1 ounce which is handy so you know how much you are feeding your baby. If you don't have enough baby food to fill the entire tray, I'd recommend just using the middle sections first. I would also set it on something flat in your freezer. I set mine on top of the ice tray so it's kind of stable. As your child grows, you could adapt these to use fruit juice and make mini popsicles for your little one.

Expensive is not always better. Once frozen the cubes are difficult to get out. I would highly recommend just buying regular ice cube trays as they are much easier to use :)
