Perfect 1 oz portions.
S. Brown
Purchased these to freeze homemade baby food, found them much easier to use than ice cube trays, consistent portions, easy to fill, easy to pop out.
M. Giangrande
Their product got 5 stars and is as safe as these silly Green Sprouts ones!

This is a bit of a pain to use. A better solution is Wilton Bite-Size Brownie Squares 24-Cavity Silicone Mold Pan. If you search for Silicone molds there are more options. Having a bit of space makes them freeze faster and much easier to remove from the pan. I tossed this one for the brownie mold and am much happier.

This is a great product. I should have bought more initially but I wanted to try it out first. I am very satisfied with this product. The cubes are easy to extract, just push them out from the bottom and they slide right out. When filing the tray, i just use a plastic pastry bag or a ziploc bag, fill it with the puree and squeeze it into each cube. It's much more efficient then trying to pour in the food or spoon it in and there is no mess involved.

Given that every other type of ice cube tray that doesn't leach chemicals is expensive, this product is the best option. Just be aware that it does not work like a typical ice cube tray where you twist it and the cubes spill out. The cubes need to be pushed out from the bottom with my fingers and my hands get cold in the process. So they are kinda annoying. But it's worth it for the price and the non-leaching material. Let me know if anyone can find a BPA/Phalate/PVC free traditional ice cube tray under $8.

This product makes the freezing food process more time consuming. You cannot pop the cubes out directly after taking it from the freezer, instead you have to wait until they are a little defrosted and then loosen each cube and push them out from the bottom. The first time I used the tray, I did not wait until the cubes were slightly defrosted when loosening and went right through the side of the tray. Waiting for the cubes to defrost enough to get them out is frustrating and increases the risk of bacteria growth.

I really like this, especially because it's BPA free. Once my baby food is frozen, I take it out and store it in labeled freezer bags to keep them fresh. Some reviews mentioned it was hard to remove the cubes...the first one takes a bit of wiggling, but once one is out, the rest come pretty easy. I just push from the bottom and they slide right out. So far I have pureed sweet potatoes and peas...2 sweet potatoes or about 2 1/2 cups of peas thinned out with breastmilk (or formula) seems to be about the right amount to fill up the tray.

Perfect portions, cleans easy and holds up well use after use. We made all of baby's first foods and this was a lot of fun for us. We froze it here and moved it into storage bags afterwards. The cubes are easy to get out which really makes this user friendly and it's safe, we couldn't ask for more! I would buy a few of these if you plan on making big batches though, that's the only thing I would have done differently. Good thing too is, I can use this for my child as he becomes a toddler to make healthy little fruit-blend popsicle cubes or lemon cubes for our water! The possibilites are endless, great multi-use buy!

Hard, no very hard to remove frozen food.. Why they didn't do it with air space between so you could push out each cube separate, is a mystery to me. The food would freeze faster that way as well. I wish I had not bought it...

Pros:

-Easy to pour and spread puree in the cubes
-Freezes quickly
-Gives you perfect 1 oz cubes
-Silicone has a lot of give and is flexible

Cons:

-Major pain to pop out the cubes without getting your fingers all up on them
-DEFINITELY holds a smell. Our first puree we made was just apples, and after I washed it with soap & hot water I could still smell the apples

After trying to reinvent the wheel, I've realized that ice cube trays work best for us when making purees. They are the easiest to pop out the cubes and right into a ziplock to go in the freezer. These trays were purchased for me at my baby shower as well as a few other freeze and store containers tailored to baby but you really can't beat a tray that costs $1 at Target in terms of performance. I do still use this tray when I'm making big batches, but it takes some effort to pop the cubes out and get them in the bag without getting your hands rather sticky. What I think would help would be to make the sides more of a solid texture and the bottoms the flex silicone. It's hard not to have the tray flop around in your hands as you're popping the food out. Overall, decent product worth a try if you have the money, but if you are trying to be frugal, just go for good ol' ice cube trays!
